Food is undoubtedly one of Lyon's most beloved traditions. Since 1935, the city has been considered the world capital of gastronomy. When Lyon's culinary traditions were being forged, the famous "Mères Lyonnaises" (Lyonnaise Mothers) managed to turn Lyon cuisine into an institution. Today, male chefs dominate the scene, like the famous Paul Bocuse, however it is the women who evolved the renowned cuisine. Many of the recipes around the city are unchanged from their humble beginnings, meaning you'll have the opportunity to taste the culture and history that has turned Lyon into the culinary hub it is today. We'll guide you through this gastronomic journey infused with passion, history, and exquisite French food and wine. Find out why eating and drinking are not just a pastime in Lyon, but a way of life.

Rose was a great guide with many insights and she put on a good tour of the old Lyon. The first food spot had good cheese and meats. However the main restaurant stop needs to be replaced on this tour. The food was underwhelming.

Really fun 3.5 hours. Our guide Ash was excellent. She gave us a lot of i for.atuon about the city and food you don't ordinarily hear. We learned about hidden passageway, pop-up artists doing secret stret art and of course a copious amount of food facts, legends, origins and preferences. We had two main meals. Charcuterie and cheese boards at the first stop follow by this decadent pastry at the second stop which we ate in one of the secret passages. We ventured across the city to our third stop after she briefly picked up a secret treat for the end of the tour. Lunch gave everyone a chance to pick from a dozen choices. Wine was included as it was with the charcuterie. The final stop was in the Grand Hotel Due where we enjoyed our coffee and her secret treat. No I'm not going to say what it was. Go on the tour to taste them. So good.

Very good food tour with a great guide Rosie. Good food and wine at several local stops. In addition to great food and drink, Rosie did a really good job adding cultural and historical perspective to the food and the area.
