What To Expect

Jinshanling Great Wall

Pick-up starts at around 07:00-07:15 a.m. from your hotels less than 3km from Nan Luo Gu Xiang in turns. (We'll confirm with you about the exact pick-up time one day before the tour) Last stop pick-up is at 08:00 a.m. from exit C of subway station Zhang Zi Zhong Lu of Line 5. After th pick-up, you'd head for Jinshanling Great Wall directly. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to get there. Main gate entrance ticket and round trip shuttle bus ticket is included in the tour. Your driver will explain to you where to start hiking and where to end and meet again. You don't need to worry about where to go. You'll have 3 hours staying on the Great Wall. Please make sure to bring some food and drink for lunch and you can eat on the Great Wall when you take a break. Usually the hike starts from BRICK CRENEL and ends at EAST FIVE WINDOW TOWER, hiking for about 6km. The hiking is a little bit strenuous, but not extremely difficult. Usually it costs around 3 hours. The tour ends at east gate.

This was a great tour, Jackie was very friendly and helpful! The sunset was incredible and the Great Wall is one of the most amazing places I’ve seen. Definitely wear good walking shoes, some of the stairs are very steep and some of the downhill can be a little slippery. Would recommend this to anyone.

We were a group of 8, pick up punctual to my hotel and then about 3 hours in mini van to reach the great wall. Walk independently of about 6km, not particularly challenging and in any case with plenty of time to do it with extreme calm, stopping to take pictures and admire the breathtaking landscape. The driver picked us up at the next exit and drove us back to the hotel. Tour made on Saturday, the Great Wall was not as deserted as I thought.

We loved it. We were a group of 8 people in a van, 21⁄2 hours on the way out and 3 hours back. The guide (Jackie) super friendly and spoke English perfectly. The Wall area... without words. One section is rehabilitated and the other is completely unspoilt as the government has not yet undertaken rehabilitation work on it. We were practically alone. The only catch is that 6 km we got short! They leave you 4 hours to complete it (it gives plenty of time) and we would have liked to stay more because it is something amazing.

We had four hours on the wall and did not Meet a lot of people. Recomend this if you want to avoid crowds. Driver was excelent.

Jinshanling is definitely the best place to see the Great Wall. I booked the tour just for myself last week and wanted to make sure beforehand I’d be going with other travelers too. Viator provided excellent support and answered all my questions. After I booked the tour, Zachary created a direct communication chat for further questions on wechat. I also got beforehand the telephone number and name of our driver, who made sure I got all the information I needed. A super reliable tour!

The Jinshanling in the afternoon is the best option. Without knowing about it we had good shots without many people. In it you will find stops to refresh and continue and at the end of the tour there are very colorful events at night. Zachary was Always replying by WhatsApp and asking if it Everything was fine.

Unique experience in a stretch of wall outside mass tourism. Perfect organization both for assistance in the days before and on the day of the excursion (on time, very kind and with perfect English)

despite the not low price is a quick and easy way to reach this part of the wall, which is far from Beijing and difficult to reach in other ways (didi can be used on the way out, at a high price anyway, but for the return is a problem because in jingshanling there is absolutely nothing). highly recommended because tourists are very few, almost always we were alone and enjoyed it!

Zack and his friend as our guides were A+. These guys didn’t just drive us... they worked the magic. Zack took us to the "hard" part of the Wall where the views are insane... no people!.. and he made the whole day smooth. At one point, seeing a Chinese police checkpoint ahead, he literally hopped out, grabbed our passports, and handled it in advance — saving us about 10 minutes of waiting in traffic. Total pro move.

I would give them more than 5 stars! Jackie was really kind and we had a great time. I totally recommend this activity and this section of the Great wall, not crowded at all and the views are incredible.
