• Best experience ever with superb guide and photographer

  A huge thank you to Filip and Lucas for giving us such an unforgettable experience on Christmas Day. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible location to enjoy the experience. For instance, when we initially arrived at a spot where a few large buses were already parked and waiting, they immediately and decisively got out of the van to assess the weather conditions. Realizing that the large crowd might affect our enjoyment, they thoughtfully decided to drive us to a different location in Finland, where we could have a better and quieter viewing spot. At the final location, once we got out of the van, Lucas mentioned that there were already some activities happening in the area. Soon after we settled down, we were lucky enough to witness an *explosive display of the Northern Lights*! It was truly magical. Their service was outstanding. They prepared foot warmers and hand warmers for us, as well as thermal clothing, which turned out to be the warmest we had tried during our entire trip—far better than the other thermal clothing we had used! It kept us incredibly warm throughout the night. What was even more thoughtful was how they distributed these resources at just the right time, so we didn’t have to carry them around unnecessarily. Filip also created a path for us through the thick snow and set up a fire in a circle where we could all sit around and stay warm. They prepared delicious tomato and meat soup—each person had their own individual pot in a thermos flask, so we could enjoy the hot soup slowly. On top of that, they also served coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, adding even more comfort to the experience. Lucas searched for the best spots based on how the aurora was developing and took incredibly professional photos. He is a passionate photographer with his own portfolio, and his expertise truly showed in the photos he captured. We absolutely loved the pictures he took! As the activity began to weaken later in the night, they shared tips with us on how to predict auroras, which was both fascinating and informative. They also explained how different Northern European cultures viewed the aurora in the past, adding a meaningful cultural touch to the experience. We truly appreciate everything they did for us. What stood out most was their genuine care and passion for what they do. You can truly feel that they run their business with heart.

• Might be good with an “easier” night and better guide but it was not my experience.

  +: thermosuits, good professional driver, great spot chosen with good fire going -: tour is too long in my opinion. There was northern lights going while we were driving, other tours stopped on the side of the road we didn’t as it was a clear night with a bit of activity with good chances of seeing something. We ended up seeing nothing and came back at around 1am (start 5.30pm). Guide decided around 11pm to drive around and try to find another stop, we ended up taking picture in front of the fjord and go back to Tromso. Nature is nature, we can’t control it but other groups saw them that night. Also for my personal taste guide talk too much. I love hearing facts and science but it felt like a slow pace monologue to occupy time while waiting. He also didn’t really ask questions to everyone in order to create group cohesion which to me is important if you are going to seat in the arctic cold for 5 hours. Time passed faster when he wasn’t with us. Driver was great though, very professional, trying to keep things on track and digging up most of the path to go to the shelter. Van was a bit cold for me, blankets might be a good idea.

  Tomas and Mathias are great! They have tried very hard to search the nights for us! Big thanks to Kat as the tour operator! I have left a pair of gloves on the bus. She has communicated patiently with me to arrange the UPS delivery to send to our home in the US. I really appreciate her help!

  What an unforgettable experience! Leaving the city lights behind. Our guide was incredible, grounded, kind, and deeply connected to nature. He read the sky, shared stories and even his gloves when my hands were frozen, and gave great photo tips how to capture these wonderful moments. We were camping by a bonfire next to a frozen lake. A night I will never forget! Thank you Northern Soul Adventures and Filip and Lucas 🫶🏼

• Amazing Northen Light Tour

  We saw Northern Light! Lucas and Philip are top notch guides. They were relentless in pursuit. Philip was tirelessly finding the best spots and setting up camera for the groups to catch the best shots. Even at 1 am on the way back, he made a stop on the side of the road because the Northern Lights was too much to passed up. He setup the camera in -20c windy night to make sure we took some good shots. It’s a long and exhausting tour, but most worth it. Bucket list checked. Thanks again to Philip and Lucas, what a night!

  We had a wonderful experience with Joaquin & Lucas. Both were kind and approachable. They worked well as a team. Joaquin had extensive knowledge about Auroras as well as the landscapes near Tromso. They were realistic in what we might expect with Aurora viewing. We highly recommend them & Norrhern Soul Adventures. Great exp

  The driver and guide were kind and helpful. They made sure we saw the northern lights. They did everything to make us comfortable in the cold conditions. Lucas drove very well in difficult conditions. We felt safe.

  Filip and Lucas with Northern Soul Adventures were absolutely incredible. There truly aren’t enough words—or stars—to capture how outstanding these two guides were. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. They even drove us into Finland to find the perfect spot to see the northern lights. Once we arrived, Filip and Lucas immediately got to work setting up a cozy campfire with seating, along with delicious soup and hot drinks. The warmth of the fire, paired with great conversation and stories, made the night feel truly special. They also took photos for us so we could fully enjoy the moment while still capturing the memories. Along the way, they easily could have stopped at multiple locations, but they were committed to finding a place that was unique, peaceful, and free from crowds—something that made the experience feel personal rather than touristy. I started the night with two tour guides and ended it feeling like I’d made two great friends. I cannot recommend Northern Soul Adventures—and Filip and Lucas—highly enough.

  Despite a cloudy night, our guide Joaquin and driver Matthias tried their best to get us some early aurora at the beginning of the trip, stopping next to highway when they detected the activity so that the group can witness some aurora and Joaquin quickly helped us to take some pictures. When we waited by the camp fire, Joaquin shared a lot of his knowledge about the Tromso, polar night, aurora experience, etc. They prepared very nice soup stored in convenient containers. They also provided us the warmer for feet and crampons to wear. The van is clean and comfort. The only thing is - the driving speed could be a bit slower to be safer though understand they tried to rush to chase aurora. They sent us the pictures taken the next day, good service and the pictures came out better than expected. Didn't realise the is one of the smallest companies in Tromso, their services are excellent. Would recommend others to join this group.
