Chianti Classico
Full-Day Chianti Wine Safari. - If you dream of a classic Chianti experience, this full-day tour is for you! Departing from Florence, you’ll travel deep into the Chianti Classico wine region, famous for its Sangiovese-based wines and breathtaking vineyard-covered hills. You’ll visit two top-rated wineries located in two splendid Tuscan villas, explore their ancient cellars, and taste a variety of Chianti Classico DOCG wines with cheese and cured meat tastings. The adventure continues with an off-road drive through private vineyards, stopping at scenic viewpoints for photos. A traditional Tuscan lunch will be served at a winery restaurant, featuring local appetizers and handmade pasta. Duration: 9 hours
Val D'Orcia
Full-Day Val d’Orcia Wine Safari: Brunello and Montepulciano - Immerse yourself in the magic of Val d’Orcia, one of Tuscany’s most breathtaking and iconic landscapes, where rolling wheat fields, ancient stone villages, and endless vineyards create a scene straight out of a Renaissance painting. This full-day off-road wine safari takes you deep into the heart of Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano territory—two of Italy’s most celebrated red wines. Visit prestigious wineries and learn about the aging process of Brunello, one of Italy’s most prized and long-lived red wines. Taste a selection of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, followed by a delicious multi-course lunch with wine pairings at a Pecorino cheese farm in Pienza. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our off-road journey to Montepulciano region, where you’ll explore historic wine cellars and enjoy more tastings of Vino Nobile, a wine fit for kings. Room for Improvement on the “Wine Safari”

2.00The overall experience was enjoyable in parts, but the tour didn’t fully deliver on what we expected from something billed as a wine safari. Across the tastings, we had the equivalent of about two glasses of wine total, which felt quite limited. Since wine is meant to be the main focus, offering a bit more would really elevate the experience. Our guide was friendly and started the first drive by sharing interesting background on Chianti Classico, which we appreciated. However, after that, the drives (around an hour total) were mostly quiet. Those stretches could have been a great opportunity to share more about the region, winemaking traditions, or even personal stories — all of which would add value and help pass the time more enjoyably. At dinner, the explanation of the food and wine was given in the van beforehand. While helpful, it would have been better to have the guide present and engaged at the table, guiding us through the pairings and available for questions in the moment. That kind of interaction is what makes a guided experience special compared to going on your own. The locations were beautiful and the guide was clearly knowledgeable — it just felt like the format left too much potential untapped. With a few adjustments — more generous wine pours, consistent commentary during drives, and presence during the meal — this tour could go from “good” to “outstanding.”

5.00We absolutely loved our experience with Walk About Tours! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The three wineries were breathtakingly picturesque, each with its own charm, and the wines were truly one-of-a-kind, so different from anything we’ve tasted before. The food was equally impressive, perfectly paired and absolutely delicious. A huge thanks to our guide, Fabio, whose passion and deep knowledge of wine and the region made every stop memorable. His warm and witty delivery had us laughing all day while still teaching us so much. Another big shoutout goes to our driver, Nando, who navigated the 4x4 safari bus like a true professional, making the journey itself part of the adventure.

5.00This was the most incredible experience! I would 10/10 times recommend this tour to family and friends as it was everything we were hoping for and more. Gabriel and Ladi were the best guide and driver and we had the BEST time!!
