Cherene was a caring and knowledgable guide. I felt really taken care of. The tour was well paced and her communications were clear. I can definitely recommend this tour! The neck pillow and blanket really eased the (very) early pick up!

An early start, but absolutely worth it for this magical experience. Cherene was a fantastic guide—calm, capable, and safely navigated us through dense fog to our destination. Thoughtful touches like blankets and neck pillows made the journey extra comfortable. We arrived just in time for sunrise on a cloudy morning and were greeted by kangaroos and wallabies, some with joeys nestled in their pouches, peacefully roaming the beach. The photos came out brilliantly. Cherene shared interesting insights throughout the morning, striking a perfect balance between informative and relaxed. The ranger ensured respectful wildlife viewing, reminding everyone to keep their distance and switch off camera flashes to avoid startling the animals. Afterward, we had the option to walk up to the lookout or simply enjoy more time with the kangaroos on the beach. Breakfast was a lovely way to wrap up the morning. With just eight of us on the tour, it felt personal — and the cost was more than justified by the experience. This tour would suit anyone who loves kangaroos.

I joined the Sunrise with Kangaroos tour with Driftwood and it was honestly unforgettable! From start to finish, everything felt so thoughtfully planned. Cherene picked me up right on time and, to my surprise, she had blankets and neck pillows ready for everyone in the van – such a kind touch, especially when you’re heading out at 3:30 in the morning. The group was small and super friendly, which made the whole experience even more special. Cherene shared so much along the way, as a safari guide, she has this incredible depth of knowledge that kept us all fascinated. You can really feel her passion from the very first “hello.” :) Watching the sunrise with kangaroos all around us was pure magic. It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments that I’ll never forget. Thank you, Cherene! Your energy, warmth, and love for what you do shine through every detail. This tour was so much more than I expected, and I’d recommend it to absolutely anyone visiting Airlie Beach and surroundings, there's so much more to see!!!

We had a lovely bush walk to a viewing point after sunrise and breakfast before heading back to our accommodation! If you're an early riser (even if you're not), this is the perfect start to your day. The tour lady (I'm so sorry, I forget her name!) is extremely knowledgeable, chipper, and punctual! She pulled up to my hotel right to the minute she was supposed to be there. Had a great, positive attitude and educated us on little things throughout the whole morning. She reminded me a bit of a female Steve Irwin with her excitement. The roos and wallabies were definitely out!! So sweet to see and lots of great photo opportunities. Keep in mind, you are not alone with the roos. There are other tour groups around and you are also kept at some distance to the roos as they eat (understandably). But some do cross over the threshold and come right up to you. We had some great pictures that day. You also make it back to your hotel at an early time ready for another full day! I am not a breakfast eater so cannot comment, but the essentials were there for a sit down meal that needed to be packed. I give 4 stars only which may be as a result of my own beliefs, i truly thought we would be alone on the beach with the roos but lots of other groups. Nothing too huge, but, not as intimate as imagined.

That was definitely worth waking up at 3am. We got to see wild kangaroos. They were very friendly & would come really close, so got some amazing pictures & videos. Then we got a little hike in the rainforest. That was a lovely morning!
