This Meteora private tour from Athens to UNESCO Holy Monasteries of the rocky mountains of Meteora area is a memorable tour!
The breath-taking Meteora rocks were formed 60 million years ago. Today is part of the Natura 2000 network.
There are six monasteries on Meteora: Great Meteoron, Varlaam, Roussanou, Agios Stefanos, Holy Trinity and St. Nicholas. You will visit 2 or 3 of the monasteries, depending on the day and time we are visiting.
The monasteries date back from the 14th c and are unique in the world because of the amazing treasure of Byzantine and Christian items you can witness. Items such as the classic attire of the monks, elegant paintings and etched glass.

Amazing tour. The pictures are are not even close to the actual view. It was worth it. Our driver, Yannis, was wonderful. The day started with him picking us up in a luxury vehicle at our Airbnb and it ended with h dropping us off at the same location. He had a lot of information about what we went to see. The ride to the location was beautiful. I loved this experience. Worth the money.
