Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Kiyomizu-dera, situated in Kyoto, Japan, is an iconic Buddhist temple that stands as a testament to architectural brilliance and spiritual devotion. Perched on the hillsides of Higashiyama district, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The temple's main hall, famously known as the "Pure Water Temple," is an architectural marvel constructed entirely without the use of nails. Its expansive wooden veranda offers a spectacular vantage point, particularly during the vibrant cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. Kiyomizu-dera also houses Otawa Waterfall, where visitors can drink from three streams believed to grant health, longevity, and success in studies. The temple's serene atmosphere, complemented by beautiful gardens and vibrant cultural events, makes it a cherished destination for both locals and tourists seeking spiritual solace and a glimpse into Japan's rich historical heritage.

Nijo Castle, located in Kyoto, Japan, is a magnificent architectural marvel that carries a profound historical significance. Built in the 17th century, the castle served as the residence and symbol of power for the Tokugawa shoguns. Its design is a blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and imposing defensive features. The castle complex is surrounded by fortified stone walls and moats, while the interiors showcase exquisite craftsmanship, intricate paintings, and sliding doors adorned with gold leaf. One of its notable features is the "Nightingale Floors," which produce a chirping sound when walked upon, serving as a security measure against intruders. • Shame on Viator. Scam and total lack of understanding

It was a real shame. No one from the agency even bothered to show up at the port. They didn't give any signs, didn't notify anyone, and it wasn't possible to contact them. No one has given any explanation and we were made to waste the day waiting, without being able to carry out the activity. We are still waiting for someone to contact us with some explanation.

The guide did not show up at the meeting place. They did not try and contact us or communicate to us of any change in plans. If you decide to take sign up for this tour, you do so at your own risk. Viator and Konnichiwa-Japan ruined that day for us. Don't take this tour.

  • Time Waster

Spending the tour in train stations and walking ungodly distances. First the guide was hard to locate, there were three different couples all had different start times so we were waiting for people, delay tour by almost one hour. The guide spent over two hours buying tickets for the trains and then our ticket would not have enough money on them to get out of the station. We were expected to walk unreasonable distances in the heat. All couples got a taxi at our expense. Very little dialog at any of the sites we visited.
