What To Expect

Experienced Japanese instructors will teach calligraphy techniques in English. You can experience it sitting on a chair, so you don't have to worry about sitting straight! First, your instructor will give you a lecture on the background of calligraphy. Then, you will learn how to use traditional tools. If you're new to calligraphy, there's nothing to worry about. Choose your favorite kanji from the samples prepared by the instructor and try to imitate it. You will gradually notice your spirit becoming more unified. Finally, you will write the kanji on a beautiful hanging scroll. Then write your name on it and stamp it to finish. Please take this hanging scroll home with you as a memory of Japan.
