This is a small-group, outdoor tour tailored especially to explore the Arctic nature while you are hunting for the Northern Lights. The main purpose is to give you the best chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis by traveling away from city light pollution. Position yourselves under cloud free skies to experience the wild Arctic nature. You will be picked up by your local guides in the city center and start the tour by heading towards beautiful mountains, fjords, and valleys. There will be many stops on the way to take photos of the unique and search for the lights. Where your tour goes depends on the weather conditions, sometimes this is as far as to the Finnish and Swedish border to find the right conditions for the lights. Travel in small groups to create a special, cozy atmosphere. This also makes the tour more flexible. You will be provided with insulated overalls, snacks, and hot drinks. Your guide will take photos on the tour and share them with you after the trip.

We got super lucky tonight, we saw the northern lights dancing which is apparently quite rare! We weren’t hopeful at the beginning due to weather conditions, however we had an amazing night! A huge thank you to our kind expert tour guides for educating us about norway and the northern lights, they really know what they’re doing! 100% recommend this tour group :)

We were very blessed on our tour and had repeated and various displays of the Northern Lights at our various stops. We were well cared for with hot drinks, cookies and at the last stop, s’mores we toasted by a campfire. We also appreciated being dropped off at our accommodation at the end of the tour.

Thank you Polar Adventures for the amazing experience .Even though the weather was not good ,the guides were extremely knowledgeable about the weather and locations on where and when to spot the Northern lights and extremely passionate . We managed to see the lights in three different places in the same night .Highly recommend Polar Adventures to anyone wishing to chase and view the Northern lights in Tromso.

I booked this for my first night of hunting the lights, and I booked it at a huge bargain - it was approximately 40% cheaper than most of the other companies. The 3 tour guides - Jasmine and team - were nice and friendly, but I just can't help feeling how inexperienced they are at managing tour groups. Almost all of us are here on a bucket list mission to see the lights but I felt like the guides just didn't consider this. Our first obstacle happened when we drove into an "unplanned road works". I am not doubting the information of being unplanned, but I feel like the way the guides handled this were not very professional. We waited for some time (that is ok) before we turned back. The original plan was to look for elsewhere to go to wait for the lights to show up, but somehow we just stopped at a roadside (the location felt quite random and unplanned) - actually just on a side-road but still ON THE ROAD. There are several occasions of vehicles passing by, which were not only dangerous but also disruptive to our photography/videography. Then, one of the guides scouted the area and found a beach-y area that we could get to if we walked down a slope of tall grass. Despite one of the guides expressing concerns over safety as the slope was rather steep, the main guide - Jasmine - was still fixated on getting there instead of just finding another safer and perhaps better location. This really left a very bad impression for me. After trying out other companies, I just feel like the 3 guides we had barely made up for the efforts made by other tours with fewer guides. My last straw for such unsatisfactory review was that - the photos we happily posed for and took - they are NOT free!! We were told there will be 2 free photos... turns out they are some sub-standard scenery photos that were taken on that day... and nothing personalised! Everything else is an extra cost (iirc its 100NOK to download each photo). TLDR: huge discount yes, but not worth the experience at all... Just pay more for a better bucket list experience!

We had a great aurora activity in a cloudless night despite a kp of just 3. The location was well chosen and the service was good- hot chocolate, bonfire, and a committed guide. However, I didn’t feel that I was joining a top provider. The tourists were taking pics with their cells, no one brought a tripod, and the guide wasn’t too interested in helping with my photography needs- he was more into taking his own pics, which were mostly for sale. His pics, however, had a low resolution. Mine, doing this for the first time, were much better. Next time I will join a photography tour.

October 8 ...it was amazing trip to see the aurora borealis with Andreas Danielsen ( Hello Tromso) we enjoyed it very much. He gave every effort to shoot the best picture for all of us, at the same time never neglecting the safety of everyone on the rocky grounds. He would run to give assistance/ support to each when necessary.

Small group in a van. The guides did their best to find clear skies, changing the spots, but some of the stops weren't so good (just on the road, cars with lights circulating there..) you are supposed to be in the quiet nature to enjoy the lights. Uncomfortable van.

Great welcoming, caring and informative tour team. We had three stops and saw an amazing Aurora Borealis display at each site getting more and more intense through the night.

One of the best gifts I’ve given myself! The tour was really nice, well organized, informative, and overall a great experience. The only aspect that made me a bit uncomfortable was the behavior of the bus driver, Bogdan. He asked too many personal questions and continued even when I tried to avoid them. It didn’t ruin the trip, yet it affected how relaxed I felt during it.
