We offer the only 100% vegan tour in Siracusa/Ortigia. The tours are small and will never include more than six people. The tour guide has been vegan for 15 years and is a native English speaker. And did I mention that it will be a lot of fun?!

What To Expect
Our meet-up location is in the Piazza Pancali just as you arrive on the island from the Corso Umberto bridge. Tonia will be waiting for you underneath the shade tree, in front of the large white map/sign of Ortigia Island. Tonia is also your "not quite professional but better than average" photographer for the duration of the tour.
Tonia will escort you through the island's popular food market to enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of this interesting piece of Sicilian history. We will also discuss the 8,000-year-old history of Sicily's terracotta ceramics and the stories behind them.

5.00Tonia’s vegan street food tour is the best way to experience this part of Sicily. She has a deep knowledge of food and history w/ genuine connections to the local vendors and restaurants. At each stop, she introduced us not only to dishes but also to the stories behind them and the people who made them. We had a wide range of options and adjusted the tour as we walked. The food was excellent! -- savory + sweet options. The focus is vegan, but it’s just as enjoyable for non-vegans. Tonia is passionate about the history, culture, and food scene, and makes the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable -- and she handles everything so you can just sit back while the food arrives. Highly recommend 😁

5.00We absolutely loved our vegan street tour! Tonia was fun, friendly, knowledgeable about local historical sights, as well as being an expert in the best places for vegan food. We booked our tour at the start of our stay so that we could make use of Tonia's recommendations. We have since eaten a wonderful meal at MOON and great street food at Forneria siciliana. We still have a couple of days to sample more vegan delights! Feel so lucky to have come across this tour and can highly recommend it. Thanks Tonia 💚

5.00After struggling to find good vegan options during our Italy trip, my wife and I were extremely excited to find Tonia’s vegan tours when we arrived in Syracuse. It was the BEST decision we made and we wish we had more time to try her other tours! Not only is Tonia extremely knowledgeable on the culture & history of the area, she brought it all together with the best vegan culinary tour we have ever been on! Her upbeat and positive energy made the whole day a blast, also demonstrated by the love she received by vendors all along the way. She also made careful arrangements to accommodate for me NOT being vegan, and ensured my wife and I had different options with her being vegan and me being gluten free. Be sure to go hungry and you will have the vegan experience of a lifetime!

5.00What a great afternoon out! Tonia is an excellent host with a great knowledge, not just of places to find great vegan food, but also of the history of Ortigia. We must have walked a fair bit but it was all flat and done at an easy pace. Every so often we would stop for another snack. I say 'snacks', there was quite a lot of eating involved! By the time the day was done I could barely finish my fabulous pistachio granita! You don't have to be vegan to enjoy this tour. The food was great, no matter what your dietary preferences are. Top tip, leave plenty of space in your stomach before you start the tour!

5.00Tonia was really great. She has a slice of life attitude and really gives you a run down of restaurants in Siracusa and Oritigia vegan friendly options! It was amazing to see how some foods became “accidentally” vegan thousands of years ago! With only one vegan on the trip, the rest of the family was still able to enjoy delicious foods, and view some amazing architecture! She provides it all! She even had water for the whole group as you do a LOT of walking! Make sure you are hungry while on the tour cause there is SO much food!!!

5.00I did Tonia's vegan street food tour while I was in Ortigia in mid April. It is one of the best tours I have done. It was absolutely amazing. This tour is really two tours in one as on the tour Tonia gives some historical background to Ortigia as we walk around the city and pass some of the amazing buildings and sites. However, we also have the information on the food we sample and the food itself. The food I tried was incredible and I am very much a foodie- the canolo I tried was the best I have had anywhere in the world. This tour is not just for vegans but for anyone who likes good food and enjoys trying different food. You should come hungry as there is a lot to eat. I loved hearing about the background Tonia could give on how the different food stops have developed their ranges over time. A really interesting tour. Tonia is a great host.
