• Beware ROL/ Silversea special offers - they are not what they may seem to be.

  Beware booking a Silversea offer with ROL. Booking a cruise for a family of 6 in October 2025, the offer stated inclusive Business class travel and taxi service from door to airport. It didn't advise that flights would be indirect and at inconvenient times e.g flying from Athens to Manchester via Frankfurt; being made to leave cruise ship at 7:15a:m and not flying until 5:15 p.m. A tour of the Acropolis was included on route to airport but no arrangements made for people with disabilities who were told to find themselves a cafe instead. Airport drop off was at 11:15 a.m - so a 6 hour wait at the airport ROL made arrangements for my daughter who lives in Gloucester to travel from Heathrow despite her request for Bristol or Birmingham. The included taxi service only covered 50 miles and she was quoted an exorbitant fee for additional taxi costs. Also the flight to Athens was very early in the morning so an airport hotel was required. The return flights were via Geneva arriving back late at night so another airport hotel was required. Silversea advised that they no longer provide hotel pre flight day rooms and they get you off the ship by 9 am - so you can spend a day waiting at an airport It would have been much cheaper and easier to book direct budget airline flights and Uber taxis! Although I have done over 150 days sailing with Silversea, I will not be sailing with them again and I have aked to be removed from the ROL and Siversea Mailing lists. Moreover, although Silversea claim to be more environmentally friendly, the indirect flights incur more mileage and more emissions.

  The cruise was very enjoyable. The VIP amenities were excellent. And our guide Renia took very good care of all the VIP guests. She was very professional and attentive to every detail. Marvelous service of gold standard!

  Prep for the weather conditions for your season of travel. It may be better to upgrade to VIP service. These are not separate rooms however a dedicated lounge and seating area. It's a 12 hour trip mostly on the ship but good time is reserved to explore each island. Staff was great and most helpful.

  This tour is a great way to see three of the islands closest to Piraeus, but it makes for a long day on the boat. The VIP lounge is calm and uncrowded, completely different from the rest of the public areas. The walking tour in Hydra is included, and on Aigina, 3 tours are offered costing around $20. A freshly cooked lunch is served (vegan or vegetarian option available) and all non-alcoholic drinks are included. Service is excellent. As soon as we saw the long line of people waiting to board the boat, we were relieved that we purchased the VIP tickets. Definitely worth every penny!

  The islands were beautiful and the VIP service was above and beyond the staff was absolutely amazing. The only thing that made it hard was the VIP room was EXTREMELY hot. We were all dripping sweat and would’ve rather been outside instead because of how hot it was. Overall it was a great experience but if you don’t do well with heat I would book non VIP to be seated outside
