What To Expect
Buckle up for an adrenaline-fueled 4x4 drive across the shifting dunes of the Namib desert, where you will witness the blazing desert dunes plunging into the cold Atlantic Ocean creating a contrast nothing short of magical. If we are lucky enough, we might stumble upon some indigenous wildlife, so keep those camera’s ready! And finally, we will arrive at Sandwich Harbor, the most important Ramsar site in Southern Africa.
Pelican Point, a striking peninsula near Walvis Bay, Namibia, is a haven for wildlife and adventure seekers alike. At its tip stands the iconic Pelican Point Lighthouse, a solitary beacon watching over the meeting of ocean and desert. But the real spectacle? One of Namibia’s largest seal colonies, where thousands of Cape fur seals lounge, play, and dive into the Atlantic waters. 5.00The four-wheel drive tour was a real highlight of our stay. Our guide was excellent, friendly, competent and explained everything understandably. The dune landscape was simply breathtaking, and the ride through the high dunes was a real adventure that still seemed safe at all times. We were particularly impressed by the many seals, the countless flamingos and other animals we could observe on the way. A great experience in the middle of an impressive natural setting! Tip: When sandboarding, be sure to protect your face - a cloth and sunglasses help a lot against the fine sand.

5.00I had an amaizing guide Hanru, I learned so much facts about Sandwich. Beautiful scenery and amaizing views. This tour with this company really met my expectations. Very delicious food. The dune drive was really incredible and felt safe while having a lot of fun. I would go again with Dominus dune tours they are really amaizing.

5.00We did the half-day sandwich harbour tour. Hanru was our driver/tour guide. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we began the tour. Hanru was friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and answered all of our questions! This tour was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Hanru climbed the dunes above the sea with us, and talked and chatted with us the whole way. He answered questions we didn’t know we had. His dune driving was fun but safe and it was very apparent that he loves his job, which made the experience even more fun for us. We had water, soft drinks and beer/cider provided to us throughout the tour, and the lunch he set up was delicious and so cute, with a table and full spread laid out for us. Our experience with Hanru was next level, and we will suggest him and Dominus Dune Tours to anyone traveling to Swakopmund. Best experience we could have asked for!

5.00Hannes made our “Arbour Sandwich” tour truly unforgettable. Kind and attentive, he shared so much about the landscape and the history of this unique place. He ensured we experienced as much as possible of this magical area, always tailoring the tour to our wishes. His driving on the dunes felt safe and reassuring, which made us feel completely at ease. Highly recommended!

5.00I‘m so happy the tripadvisor account is finally set up so I can leave a well deserved review!! My boyfriend and I wanted to see Sandwich Harbour and got recommend Dominus Dune Tours. The trip with Hannes was just amazing! He has a lovely personality and knows so much about the wildlife! Together we saw the pink lake, the spot where the desert meets the ocean, climbed a giant sanddune and had a fabulous lunch in the sand. He thought of everything and even set up a small table with table cloth! :D it was such a great experience that we decided to do a second tour with his son Hanru the next day. We went sandboarding and Hanru made sure the boards were polished to the max! He is a lovely person as well and we had such a fun day together. If you want to have a real Tourguide, not just a driver I can recommend them whole heartedly. They made the experience special, are communicative and hat lots and lots of interesting facts about the nature and the animals. They are the kind of people you wanna surround yourself with. 5.00We had such an amazing day with Hannes! He is an AMAZING guide, full of knowledge and interesting facts. He’s kind, funny and really loves the environment of Namibia. We are still in touch with him today! And he’s also a great photographer, the pictures he took were amazing. The tour is an absolute must do when you’re in Swakopmund!
