As you board the luxury passenger van, you will be instantly treated like a celebrity. Leather seats and a comfortable ride await you. As we pick up other guests around the city, you will be given a mini-tour of the city or you may watch a film about other plantations to prepare you for your tour. While you are on the van, be prepared to be entertained by the driver! You will not just sit in silence.

Whitney Plantation
Here you will spend about 2.5 hours on the plantation grounds exploring a national historic landmark. Go behind the scenes and learn the real stories of plantation life. Whitney tells the story of life through the eyes of the enslaved people who lived and worked there. It also includes the history of the early owners, the Haydel family.
Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site
Laura is a French Creole plantation that was run by four generations of French Creole women.

5.00I went on the Whitney Plantation tour and it was an incredible and moving experience. Our driver Kendrell, made the ride so enjoyable, sharing fascinating information about New Orleans, the Mississippi River, and the plantations along the way. When we arrived, our guide, Justin, gave an outstanding tour. He provided such a deep and powerful education about the lives of the enslaved people, their struggles, and their resilience. Justin’s way of telling the story was heartfelt and unforgettable, reminding us why it’s so important to never forget this history. This tour is something I will carry with me, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.

5.00I followed a TikTok recommendation and it did not disappoint. My husband and I visited the Whitney Plantation and the history was as authentic as you could get. We appreciated that the tour centered the slave perspective. Usually, the tours barely cover the experience and over glorifies the plantation owner’s history. I would be remise if I didn’t mention our tour guide “Kin”. From drop-off to pick-up this man knew his Louisiana history. We had taken a smaller city tour the day before that didn’t hold a candle. My piece of advice? Seek out tours that provide the depth of slavery in LA.

5.00This was an incredibly interesting and educational experience. Our driver, Kindrell, was super friendly and shared great information throughout the day. We got to see several plantations along the way, take beautiful photos, and even spend some time at the outside of Oak Alley. The Whitney Plantation itself was powerful and well-presented, I learned a lot. Definitely a tour worth doing!
