The activity was very chill. The sommelier was nice and courteous. Recommend that the restaurant also sells the wines (which are used for the wine tasting) at discounted prices so as to make it convenient for visitors like ourselves to buy the wines that we enjoy.

Absolutely FABULOUS. The setting is a gorgeous bistro like small restaurant that is part of the palace. Six wonderful Vienesse wine, each paired with a different cheese. Worth the price!

The experience was good except for the lack of details provided by Viator as to the time of the wine tasting after the tour apparently there were two times for the wine tasting which was not shared on the tour information. It was very confusing.in the end we did the wine tasting.

The wine tasting was so much fun! We were supposed to see Taylor Swift, but had to drown our sorrows in wine instead when that was cancelled. Good wines, especially the red wine! Got an amazing cheese board and lots of delicious bread as well. This was a life saver for us as we arrived on an empty stomach after tanning all day in 30+ degrees and almost succumbing to the heat. As Norwegians we are obviously morally obligated to take advantage of the sun when we are so lucky to see her out and about, even though that means hours of sweating and suffering. I can highly recommend doing this when hungry and dehydrated, because the wine will taste so, so, so much better. Trust me on this one! The waiters were also super friendly and so kind to let all the wine stay in the room after the official tasting was over so that we could do the only right thing at that moment: to finish all the bottles and make sure not one drop of wine was wasted. Marco greeted us good night on our way out and made us laugh even more than the wine did, lol. Would recommend, 10/10.

While we had a great time, the process for this activity is a little unclear. What you do is meet at the Joseph II Restaurant, which is outside the palace grounds, to the left of the main entrance across from the bus parking lot. You will be given tickets to walk through the palace, there is an option for an audio tour when you get in. This tour is sanctioned by the restaurant, not the palace, so if you have questions, you must ask the restaurant directly. We were only given 4 tickets for our 6 person group, and this was not acceptable. You must have the same number of tickets as people. Once you’re done, you’ll return to the restaurant and do a wine tasting that includes a cheese plate. Because so many groups finished the tour at the same time, we waited about an hour at the restaurant for the tasting. Overall, this was a nice experience, and we had fun. However, it was a little disorganized.

Not great communication. Meetup instructions say to meet at a restaurant but they don’t tell you that the bar manager is the person who you need to talk to. Other employees of the restaurant knew nothing about the tour. Also meetup is at 14:00 for the palace tour with the wine tasting at 16:46. Unfortunately it does not take that long to do the palace tour so you’re stuck waiting around for the wine tasting. I skipped the wine tasting portion because I did not want to wait 1.5 hours for it to start.

This was not worth the money. The man who was supposed to tell us about the wines spoke very poor English. Had to have help from one of the guests to translate. Poor planning and execution. Might as well put a case of wine on the table and say drink and enjoy yourselves and do something else.

Good experience, just the two of us doing the wine tasting. Nice cheese board provided as well. Lost a point because we bought two bottles of the wine for 24Euro each, then found them for 7Euro in a supermarket. Also, realised once we got home that we didn't get the booklet mentioned in the listing. Still a good experience, just don't buy your wine from there!

The staff are very welcoming, the wine is extremely good and paired beautifully with the cheese selection . Unfortunately you are not at the Palace or palace views, only a restaurant on the outside facing the road

Literally the worst! The gentleman who was running the tasting had no clue about the wines, the grapes or the regions. He only gave us the name of the wine, the date and alcohol content all of which he read off the bottle. It came with a cheese pairing but he also didn’t know which cheese to pair them with. He had a clipboard with descriptions of the wines but after spending 5 min trying to find the first wine he gave up on that. Don’t waste your money - just go to a wine bar instead.
