Old Caoling Tunnel was a train tunnel connecting New Taipei City and Yilan on the north coast, and was the longest tunnel in 1924. Now, it is part of the beautiful north coast bikeway that combines its history and culture, and it was named a finalist in the Destination Award Category of the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2015 by WTTC.
Xing Yuan Tea Farm, a family-owned tea farm that is now operated by the third generation who transformed their family farm business from conventional farming to organic agriculture, and now becomes agricultural recreation.
Jim & Dad’s Brewing Co., the first locally made brewery in Taiwan. This brewery was established by the young owner Jim and his father, who aim to provide the freshest beer directly from the brewery to the customers, and use the local grown ingredients to make beer. You can sit here and taste the real Taiwanese locally made beer with the greenery surrounded.

This morning, you will be heading to Old Caoling Tunnel for bike tour by train traveling through the Northeast Coastline mountains. After arriving at Fulong Train Station, you will rent a bike and start the Old Caoling Tunnel Bike Tour. Old Caoling Tunnel was a train tunnel completed in 1924, connecting New Taipei City and Yilan on the north coast, and was the longest tunnel by the time. Now, it is part of the beautiful north coast bikeway that combines its history and culture, and it was named a finalist in the Destination Award Category of the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2015 by WTTC. While riding through the tunnel, you will hear a folk Taiwanese song called “Diu Diu Dong” (means “train cave” in Taiwanese). After coming out of the tunnel, you will be riding along the coastline and up close to the geology landforms and ocean view.

After breakfast at hotel, you will take train towards Loudong (Yilan County). This day, you will take the private vehicle touring around Yilan, starting with Xing Yuan Tea Farm, a family-owned tea farm that is now operated by the third generation who transformed their family farm business from conventional farming to organic agriculture, and now becomes agricultural recreation. Let’s follow the tea farm owner’s lead, and have a deeper understanding of Taiwanese local grown tea through your eyes and hands. Activities: ● Guided Tour to Visit Tea Farm and Experience Tea Leaves Plucking. ● Make Your Own Hand Roll Tea Leaves to Take Home. ● Tea Tasting.
