Sushi Making Class – English-Friendly Japanese Cooking Experience Experience the joy of making sushi in Japan with friendly, English-speaking instructors — no experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and appetite! What makes sushi special is the endless variety of ingredients and styles you can explore. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to make: -Nigiri (hand-pressed sushi) -Inari (sweet tofu pouch sushi) -Hosomaki (thin roll) -California Roll We begin with a short introduction to essential Japanese ingredients — such as dashi, miso, and traditional seasonings — followed by a demonstration. Next comes sushi prep: start by making tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), which will be used as a filling in your sushi rolls. Then, prepare sushi rice and toppings such as shrimp. Once everything is ready, you'll learn how to roll and shape your own sushi with full guidance. After making your sushi, sit down and enjoy your meal with miso soup, fresh wasabi, and pickled ginger — our instructors support you every step of the way, so relax and have fun! Note: We use pre-sliced fish. This class does not include raw fish cutting instruction.

Just fantastic. If my grandmother was Japanese and had a cooking class in the middle of Tokyo, yet in a very quiet and peaceful residential area, this would be it! Class is 10 people, very clean informative and friendly. I've taken similar courses in other cities but this was my favorite!

Our cooking instructors did a wonderful job teaching not only how to make sushi, but mixing in some cultural, historical, and language information. We selected this in part because they offered gluten-free options. They were very careful about cross contamination.

Lovely experience learning how to make sushi, from the preparation of "dashi" fish stock through to California rolls (and why they have the rice on the outside) and hand formed classics. Friendly atmosphere with good English, clean and hygienic with enough equipment for all. Well planned so that we got through lots of items in the session and left with a very full tummy afterwards! Would highly recommend.

We loved our sushi making class. The staff were extremely kind and patient and spoke excellent English. They even helped us to learn some Japanese phrases! We left feeling very full after enjoying eating the sushi we had made! Looking forward to trying to make it at home with the recipes provided. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Yummy and Yuka both spoke excellent English. This was a fun activity for us and our teen. The ingredients were fresh, and we all created a large plate of sushi that was nice looking and delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend this class to someone who enjoys sushi.

We absolutely loved this sushi-making class! The perfect blend of demonstration and hands-on experience made it both educational and fun. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The pace was spot on—giving us plenty of time to ask questions, practice techniques, and truly enjoy the process without ever feeling rushed. The recipes were accessible yet still offered new skills and insights, and everything we made was fresh, beautiful, and delicious. Being welcomed into a family home made the whole experience feel personal and warm—more like learning from friends than attending a formal class. Highly recommend!

A memorable and enjoyable sushi preparation lesson, very professionally led by delightful teachers. An excellent cookery studio set back from the main roads in a quiet residential area, that catered ideally for a small group of 8 participants. The tuition was expertly led in a charming manner, the facilities and equipment first rate and the final dishes that we created were really good and tasted delicious! Moreover, it was a fun activity. Thoroughly recommended as we really enjoyed it.

Highly recommend this sushi class, the host Hidem and her assistant were lovely. Not only did we make sushi which is an art form in itself she taught us about the history of Japan through the ingredients and had a lovely bubbly personality to match. We made maki rolls, California rolls, sashimi and tofu.
