We had a great time learning about Sake at the brewery and in the tasting room. Our instructors were very informative and their English was excellent. We learn a lot about a different types of Sake and the processes involved. The group size was small which made it easy to ask questions. Would recommend this experience to others

We came into this as sake-newbies but with some experience with wine and beer production and tasting. Kyoko and Kotaro were our guides and first walked us through the Gekkeikan brewery museum. Here they explained the sake making process and what choices in the process lead to what flavor profiles. This was very interesting and was great background for when we afterward got to taste different kinds of sake. We had a very fun and engaging afternoon, learning a lot, and equipping us to know what kinds of sake we enjoy and what to look for when ordering it out in the wild.

Greg and Mai were very knowledgeable about both the sake making process (at the museum) as well as the tasting. They were particularly good at talking and explaining what we were enjoying in a sake, and in teaching how to identify sake for ourselves.

I don't really drink much. But I do a lot of cooking and am interested in knowing more about the Japanese alcohol making process. Our guides (Mayuki-san and Mae-san) were very informative and were very interactive. They had very good timing too. No time was wasted, but enough time to enjoy and understand the sake making process and how to identify which kinds of sake best suit us. They were both very friendly, professional, and very eager to answer any questions. Also the area is a place I have not been to in Kyoto. It is very beautiful with very rustic old buildings. A real treat for a true Kyoto experience. Highly recommended.

We were so happy with this tour. It was an in-depth overview of not just this sake distillery but a bit of the history of sake and its importance in Japan. Highly recommend!
