We booked a private tour with WanderBus and got Erick as a guide! (From Quito to Cuenca, 6 days) A tour like this is perfect if you want to discover a lot of different places in a short amount of time, all with a feeling of being 100% safe. Erick is quite young for a guide, however, he already knows a lot and it is very confortable to travel with him and above all he explains all very clearly! Nevertheless, before booking a tour with WanderBus, you should check with the agency whether all activities can really be done, as some of them are not available on certain days. WanderBus did not let us know in advance, and therefore we lost some activities (market, Museum...) because of that. WanderBus or the guide should tell the clients in advance so that they know what they are paying for!! All in all it was a great experience! :) If you don't have much time, I definitely recommend WanderBus and also Erick as guide!

I cannot recommend this experience enough. We were accompanied but an excellent driver and guide. While this company bills itself primarily as a private transport service, it's really more of a multi-day guided tour of some of the national parks and geologic features of the Ecuadorian Andes. The company also has a mission to both expose tourists to the indigenous culture of Ecuador and to improve the lives those living in indigenous villages, so we also had a lot of one-on-one encounters with people in places we would never have seen had it not been for Wanderbus. This is a fantastic company, both in concept and execution.

We enjoyed the convenience of having a private guide, which made it possible to see a wide range of geological features from Andes, to paramos, cascades, and rainforest. Our favorite city was Cuenca, however Banos had more variety and accessibility to hikes and wildlife which puts it as first choice. It was helpful to bring multiple light layers of clothing to add or subtract as each day could bring wide ranges of weather. Our guide Paul Bravo was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and treated us like family. A joy to spend five days with.
