The tea ceremony was an excellent experience. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We were dressed in beautiful kimonos to enjoy the traditional process of sharing tea together. Every step was explained carefully and thoughtfully. I highly recommend this tour.

Not good - don’t understand the other reviews? Traveling across Japan for 3 weeks- we saw so many tea ceremonies inside parks with beautiful gardens. This is inside a regular residence- in the middle of nowhere- residential area - kimonos are basically folded and pilled up on the floor - nothing like the exotic kimonos we saw in the towns. Sorry for this review as it may hurt the owners but I thought it should be seen before you book.

This tea ceremony with Toku and his wife was wonderful! They were both delightful and interesting. Toku is a kimono styling genius and his collection of genuine antique kimonos is extensive. It is truly generous of him to allow participants to choose any kimono they want to wear. My sister and I loved the entire experience.

We were lucky to have this experience, just the two of us. We learned alot about Japanese culture, Kimono and of course the tea ceremony itself. Toku and his wife were so welcoming and the photos were great. My husband could not kneel, so they adapted the ceremony for him. Would recommend this authentic and personal experience by people who are passionate about sharing insights of Japanese culture.
