What To Expect
Alcatraz Island
Once you take the ferry over to Alcatraz Island and you are dropped off, you will make your way up to the main prison building, where you receive an audio headset, and the audio tour will guide you through the Alcatraz Prison. Once the audio tour is over, you can continue taking pictures and exploring the Island, or you can walk back down to the ferry landing and hop on the next ferry headed back to San Francisco. The Alcatraz tour typically takes 2-3 hours to enjoy.

2.00Apparently there is a fly infestation during sept and oct. I understand that there isn’t much anyone can do about nature but a warning would have been nice. I could not enjoy the day swatting flys by the dozen( not an exaggeration). The workers had nets etc but nothing for the guests. I didn’t even do the cruise that came with it for fear of the flies.
