  We booked it through buyagift, did not really know what to expect. However it was so much fun and so interactive. The drinks were incredible and got leftover alcohol back! Will be recommending to all friends and family.

  I didn’t know what to expect but exceeded my expectations and was such a fun experience- great for a hen do! Actors were amazing and stayed in character the whole time. Cocktails were strong, you provide your own alcohol but they create them and bring them to your cell. So much fun!

  I absolutely loved this experience, the staff were so 'credible' and remained in character throughout. The whole time we were there I don't think we stopped laughing and would definitely go again.

  Great, fun cocktail experience for groups/couples/family. Starts and ends promptly. Actors are very good and make it a fun experience! Cocktails delicious. Would definitely recommend.

  Booked this experience for my boyfriend’s birthday and we both loved it! Cocktails were lovely, you get a say in the flavour i.e. sweet, bitter, fruity etc and the ‘inmates’ were very friendly — nothing to be scared of! The atmosphere was also really good, lots of engagement from the audience. The only negative things were not too much of a bother, but I think should still be noted: There were 2 groups, one in a cell opposite and another in a cell next to us, that were constantly using their selfie lights on full brightness. We all love good lighting for photos, so I get it, but it was quite excessive and it was slightly annoying to keep having lights shone in our direction for the whole experience. When booking, I did pay extra for the special occasion option to have someone from your booking involved in the experience as a janitor. Unfortunately though, this didn’t happen as someone else must have booked it as well. That was a bit of a let down as I was hoping to catch my boyfriend out and see him have his own moment. Aside from those minor issues, we had a great time and would both highly recommend it to friends/couples and even for someone who wanted to go solo, as you would be buddied up with people in another cell, so it’s a good chance to get to know someone new! Thank you to the staff for creating such a fun, memorable experience! 😊

  Great fun, cocktails were fab! Nice to something a bit different, actors were good, easy location were hopped straight on a bus outside Liverpool st station and the bus stopped straight outside the venue

  I was really looking forward to the Alcotraz experience, but our visit was completely spoiled by how poorly the staff handled things. During the experience, one of the actors instructed our group to do something as part of the “story.” We followed those instructions exactly — only for another actor to come over moments later, start shouting directly in my friend’s face, and accuse us of breaking the rules. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unnecessary. Even after we tried to explain that we were only doing what we’d been told by another member of staff, they refused to listen and told us we had to leave the experience altogether. It was clear that the actors hadn’t communicated with each other at all, and instead of sorting it out professionally, they made a huge scene in front of everyone. What’s supposed to be a fun, immersive night ended up feeling tense and awkward. We were embarrassed and disappointed, especially considering how expensive the tickets are. I completely understand that the actors are supposed to stay in character, but there’s a line between immersive theatre and outright rude behaviour — and this crossed it. Overall, a terrible experience that could have been avoided with better communication and a bit of basic respect for paying guests.

  Shocked and Disappointed – Completely Unacceptable Behaviour from Staff I honestly don’t even know where to start with this review. I visited Alcotraz London on 1st November 2025 as part of a group booking expecting a fun, immersive experience — but what we got was nothing short of humiliating and uncomfortable. Partway through the evening, one of the actors (Cassidy) told our group to “get the briefcase from the Warden to retrieve the legacy and the Governor’s phone number, then give it to her to set her free.” Naturally, we followed these instructions, assuming it was part of the storyline. When we went into the Warden’s office and brought the briefcase back, the Warden suddenly started shouting directly in my face — aggressively, loudly, and completely out of nowhere. At first, I thought it was part of the performance, but it quickly became clear it wasn’t acting. It was intimidating and genuinely upsetting. We were then approached by a member of staff who told us that this wasn’t supposed to happen, and that we shouldn’t have taken the prop. We explained calmly that we were only doing what we’d been told by another staff member and apologised for the miss communication. He initially said we wouldn’t be kicked out because it was just a miscommunication — but only a couple of minutes later, we were told to leave the experience entirely. So not only was I shouted at and embarrassed in front of everyone, but our entire group was removed from the show for following the actor’s directions. We paid full price for an experience that ended up being ruined by staff who clearly weren’t communicating with each other. I’ve been to plenty of immersive events before and never encountered anything like this. There’s a huge difference between immersive roleplay and outright rudeness, and what happened here crossed that line completely. Extremely disappointed and honestly shocked by how poorly the situation was handled. I would not recommend this experience to anyone unless the management addresses their staff training and communication.
