What To Expect

Mutianyu Great Wall

Your private layover tour begins with pickup at Beijing Daxing Airport or Beijing International Airport(Pek) in the morning or afternoon, depending on your flight arrival time. Your informative local guide will take you by private vehicle to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section. It will take 2 hours to arrive at the Great Wall. On the way to the Great Wall your guide will explain the history and stories about the Great Wall. You will also enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery on the way. On arrival of the Mutianyu Great Wall, you will take their shuttle bus to the foot of the mountain, then take either the cable car round trip or ski-lift up and toboggan down at the Great Wall. Spend 2-4 hours to hike the wall depending on your flight arrival and departure time. If you want to enjoy a local delicious lunch or dinner please choose the related option when make booking. Your private tour ends with return transport to Beijing Daxing Airport or Beijing International Airport(Pek) or drop-off at your Beijing city hotel.

Buffet lunch and also did some tea tasting as the great wall was a little foggy. Due to the poor weather the chair lift and toboggan were not running. Guide was very friendly and informative

This was a bit expensive for what I got. The ride to and from the airport was pleasant and the chair lift up and slide down were fun. It would've been nice if the tour guide joined me for the duration of the wall journey. Extra kudos to the company for making a driver available to me the following day for Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City then a ride to the airport!

Everything turned out great. We landed late but our guide Becky tweaked the schedule and got us back to the airport with plenty of time. She had lots of interesting info and let us go at our own pace to see what we wanted to see. Everything about the tour was planned out and taken care of. All we had to do was meet up with our guide and the rest was done for us. A great tour and I'd recommend taking a long layover to try it.
