This was, essentially, the same ticket you can purchase in advance on the Florence Duomo site to climb to the top of the dome. It was just sold a more than double the price. Next time I will buy my ticket direct from the actual website to save!

We bought this because the regular ticket from the direct seller was sold out. I am glad we were able to climb the dome, though I do wish I didn't have to pay double or triple the price. Word to the wise... if you are going to Florence, plan out when all these tickets go on sale so that you can buy them at the normal price. Make sure that you will absolutely be able to make it to your dome climb. We almost didn't because our train to Florence from our previous destination was cancelled and then our new train was delayed. Thankfully, we made it on time. This is most definitely a climb!! I bought this ticket so that we could do both the dome climb and the bell tower climb. We were so sore and tired after the dome climb (maneuvering our heavy luggages around trains and stations that day probably didn't help either) that we never did the tower climb or several other things on this ticket. We probably could've just bought the dome climb and saved some money.

Be prepared! As soon as we entered the Duomo we were ushered immediately up the stairs to the dome. There was no warning or greeting. It was very hot. Take water with you. It's a long climb but well worth the trip. We had a Rick Steve's book with us so we knew what we were looking at. We did not have a personal guide.

If you’re claustrophobic or not reasonably fit I would not recommend this climb… it’s narrow and hot with limited ventilation at times. But if you are able to do the climb the views are rewarding

The climb up the Dome was challenging but well worth the effort. The Museum is incredible and really informative. Great that, other than the booked time to climb the Dome, the tickets are valid for anytime so you don't have to cram it all into one day
