The guide was very knowledgeable and courteous of the people in the tour. Being a Historian, he provided lots of information to build onto the condition of the Buda area of Budapest. We spent 2 hours visiting many streets and sites that are today Buda City. The church Our Lady of Budapest was beautiful and he explained why its columns and decor look different from most churches. We enjoyed his tour.

Our guide/historian for the day was Judit, who reached out the night before with a brief introduction about herself and detailed instructions how to get to the meeting point (including directions from different transportation), and her contact information just in case. It turned out we were the only two people who booked the tour so we had our private tour with Judit. Judit is very knowledgeable about the Buda Castle area and its history. Judit also knows her Hungarian history. The tour was interactive and we got to ask questions as we walked around the area. We got to visit the Matthias Church and coincidentally, an organist played a few tunes on the organ. It was a pleasant surprise. Not only you had time for questions, but time for photos and a little coffee break. Judit took us to a café owned by a mother-daughter for a coffee and we added a Hungarian pastry on our own to fuel up. As we continued with our tour, we saw more breathtaking views and learned more about Hungarian history. If you love history and/or want to learn more about Hungary during its golden age, during WWI, WWII, and under Communism regime, this tour is for you.

Historical review of Buda Castle region. The tour was informative and the guide was a subject specialist who shared the migration of the religious groups and nations that conquered the region. Without this valuable tour one would visit the area without the rich information imparted by the guide.
