Alexa was very helpful when I was researching and organising the trip including sorting out our transport to and from our hotel (as we were staying on the outskirts of town). The boat journey over to Cano was very smooth and quick and we had some dolphins join us along the way! The boat was full but when we arrived at Cano we were split into 2 smaller groups each with a guide. Our guide was Alexa - she was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had two separate 40 mins sessions in the water, with a short break in between on the beach at Cano. While snorkelling, we saw lots of amazing tropical fish, leatherback, hawksbill and green turtles, a stingray and a small blacktip reef shark. Visibility was pretty good - better than I was expecting. At the end of our second session, Alexa told us to swim down a couple of metres to hear a humpback whale "singing"...it was amazing! We stopped off at the wild and beautiful San Josecito beach on our way back to the mainland, and enjoyed a nice, cold beer! Once back in Drake we went for a tasty lunch of chicken and rice to round off the trip. Fantastic experience and a great crew - highly recommended!

A truly perfect day. Jock and Alexa were our guides and did a truly awesome job. We snorkeled two different reef sections on the north side of Cano Island and saw more than 10 sea turtles, several golden pufferfish, flounder, lobster and numerous reef fish. We landed on Cano and took a short break to climb the hillside to the observation platform. Then on the boat ride back we searched for whales and found a mother and calf. We wrapped up with an excellent lunch at a local restaurant with a resident sloth in a tree out back. All washed down with a complimentary beer. 5/5 Stars!

Alexa and the rest of the crew were friendly and made us feel at ease. They picked us up straight from the beach outside our hotel. All the equipment we used was good quality and they have reef safe cream available. We saw dolphins on the way to Cano Island. When in the water but we saw lots of big and small colorful fish and a couple of sea turtles. The visibility did worsen during our trip but that can't be helped. We stopped at the beach on Cano Island for a break with fresh fruit before going to the second snorkeling sight. On the way back we stopped at Playa Josecito which was an added bonus as we had wanted to visit. When we arrived back at Drake Bay we went for a delicious lunch. My kids are quite fussy but they enjoyed it. (I keep trying to recreate the chicken and rice from Costa Rica) Also a special mention to our special co captain on the day of our trip. His going to grow up to be the coolest boy in town.

Today we enjoyed an amazing time of snorkeling with Yaco. We saw a great variety of sea life; many species we had not even expected. We felt safe both on the boat and in the water. Our time ended with a delicious lunch! Thank you so much!

We did the snorkeling at Caño Island tour in Drake Bay today with Alexa and the others from Yemanya Expeditions. Great experience from start to finish. Comfortable 45 min boat ride. Appreciated the 2 separate sites and snorkel outings with a break on the beach in between. Visibility was challenging today, but they did an excellent job seeking out what was best for the day Nice going in smaller groups each with a leader. The tour ended with a very good lunch (way beyond expectations) once back to land. Alexa is top notch and her crew were great as well. I’ll definitely book with them again.

Spending the day snorkeling with Alexa was certainly one of the best decisions of our trip to Drake Bay. The experience was wonderful, not only for the beauty of the place, but also thanks to our guide, who made everything perfect. When the water conditions were not ideal, he knew how to adapt and choose the best point to dive into this marine paradise. Alexa takes care of every detail and adapts flexibly to the group’s preferences, making the adventure even more special. The boat is comfortable, and at all times we were offered drinks and snacks, a detail that is appreciated. To end the day in the best way, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant La Jungla. If you are looking for a safe and unforgettable experience, snorkeling in Canyon Island with Yemanya is definitely the best choice. Highly recommended!
