I visited Chan May on a cruise with my brother and parents. David picked us up from the port and drove us around all day to Da Nang, Hoi An, and Marble Mountain. He was very attentive, timely, and friendly. As this was a private excursion and not through the cruise line, we were worried about making it back to the ship in time but David kept us on time and we made it back with time to spare. Thanks David!

We had an excellent full-day private tour from Chan May Port to Huế and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met our driver, everything was smooth, flexible, and well paced — exactly what you want on a cruise day with a fixed return time. We visited some of Huế’s most important historical and cultural sites, including Khai Dinh Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, and Tu Duc Tomb, each very different in style and atmosphere and all fascinating in their own way. We also stopped at the beautiful Thiên Mụ Pagoda along the Perfume River, which was a peaceful and memorable highlight. In the city, we explored the Imperial City (Citadel), focusing on the main gates and palaces, which gave us a great sense of Huế’s imperial history without feeling rushed. We also had time to visit Đông Ba Market, pick up food at a supermarket, enjoy a Starbucks stop, and take a short, relaxing walk along the river — a perfect balance of sightseeing and downtime. A special thank you to our driver, Trương Viết Sơn, who was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. His route suggestions were smart and efficient, traffic timing was excellent, and he was flexible with changes throughout the day. We always felt relaxed and confident that we would return to the ship on time. Overall, this was a very well-organized and enjoyable day that showed us the best of Huế without stress. Highly recommended, especially if you’re visiting on a cruise stop and want to make the most of your time.

Our driver Nin was excellent. Communication before and during the trip really helped us believe this was going to be an exciting and interesting trip and so it proved. The sights we saw and pictures we took will all be looked back on with found memories. The drive was safe and comfortable. We got to spend the right amount of time at each place and never felt under any pressure or obligation to do or buy anything. Had enough time in Hoi An to eat and shop before safe return back to the ship in plenty of time. Thank you Nin.

Had tour guide Scott today who met us at celebrity solstice cruise in Chan May port. He took us for a morning coffee beside a lagoon, drove over the Hai Van pass (stopping for photos) and then through Da Nang. After we had driven through Da Nang, we went to Hoi An. Scott was knowledgable of the town, explaining the history, the recent floods, and all of the sites around. It was a perfect day, Scott spoke perfect English, took photos of us when we wanted, and kept us on time. We returned back to the ship with just over an hour to spare to browse the nearby market. It was a perfect day, perfect excursion.

Britannia Excursions . This review would probably suit those who have not been on a Cruise and those who are a bit nervous about making your own arrangements. Kiel, Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Skagen. As most excursions are early departures we found having room service for breakfast the best option ,other wise it is a rush we ordered for 7am. Make sure you keep up with the different time zones and set Watches ,Phones accordingly. I had pre booked our excursions well before our departure and I also got a slight discount for doing so. As this Cruise was in May we wore layers and left any other clothing on the coach. KIEL, Germany, Castles and Boat cruise with lunch. We were lucky that the weather was Chilly but Sunny, Coach through the country side to Eutiner town with a Schloss (castle) lake really nice town and walks around the lake could not go into Schloss. Our next stop was for lunch at a lakeside restaurant , the food was really good maybe too much ,then after we went on the 5 lakes boat tour, very scenic and relaxing ,followed by a short coach trip to another Schloss and lake before setting off back to the ship. There were plenty of comfort breaks. Both my Wife and I fully enjoyed this trip and for us it was well worth the money. TALLINN Estonia ,This was the only trip I organised myself as the port was very close to the city , and you just followed the Crowd and painted lines on the pavement. I had a guide book plus map to find our way around it took approx 15/20 mins walk. The only Public loo we found was by the Nevesky Russian church in the old town, now this was self cleaning and took a long time per person , 0.50c make sure you have small loose change. The Church was really beautiful inside (no Photographs). We had lunch in in the town square in a restaurant where they wore old traditional clothes, ,A couple of glasses of Wine each, meat soup which was really good , Rolls and garlic bread approx 50 euro .The new town joins onto the old town and from there a walk back to the ship. Not far from the ship there was a Maritime Museum in some old Seaplane hangers follow your map or signposts approx 25 min walk and 20euro to get in. The main attraction was a WW2 submarine which you can go in it is small and going from one end to the other you do have to bend and climb through spaces ,There was also information about Finland and Estonia Baltic fight with the Russian navy as well as other maritime boats and artifacts. HELSINKI Finland. Helsinki on foot. Lots of walking. This for us was the only excursion mistake, IT was a cold very windy day , Coach into the city and were given receiver earphones to hear what the guide was saying, all we could hear was the wind!!!! for US it was a boring 3 1/2 hours. The only building that was interesting was a residents work building ,different jobs , musical recording studios , Radio stations all behind glass. The coffee stop was 30 mins in which you had to go to the loo, que for coffee and pastry ,there was a second coach load as well so not very good. We were taken to the Rock church mmmmm. For us not the right trip perhaps a boat trip to fort and islands would have been better. Have your breakfast on your balcony and go onto the top deck on the approach to Stockholm the forest islands with swedish summer houses are stunning we had a sunny day. We had an overnight stay in this port. STOCKHOLM Sweden, Stockholm, Sigtuna and lunch. Coach to Sigtuna with guide, history of Vikings, Runes carved into Rock, Ruins, nice village to explore. 3course lunch in restaurant walks to lake and small gardens . Coach to Vasa museum ,a must go to museum. To Stockholm city for a walk . We are so glad we did this trip it was a long day but worth it for US. STOCKHOLM, Stockholm Waterways. Walk to boat from ship 2 hour boat trip around the waterways , you see all the buildings from the water with commentary . COPENHAGEN, Denmark. Copenhagen,Canals and Cristianshavn. Coach to Copenhagen main square just in time to see changing of the guard by the Royal Palace, Nice looking buildings and surrounding churches with a mix of modern ..Walked past Danish resistance museum no time to visit. Drive around Copenhagen then to Christianshavn old town. Canals walk, loads of different canal boats/Houseboats. Canal boat trip to end by the little mermaid and yes she is little. Back on to coach to ship. We both enjoyed the trip . COPENHAGEN, Evening Jazz canal Cruise We really enjoyed this trip ,The band was really good even on a smallish boat such a chilled vibe. Locals all sitting on the canal sides drinking and eating enjoying the sun and warmth some were swimming would recommend if you like your Jazz. SKAGEN, Denmark, The Top of Denmark. This was either a morning or afternoon trip, we choose the afternoon. Before that We walked into Skagen approx 15/20 mins just followed the blue line on the pavement and map into town, First stop the Sweedish Sailors church, then stroll to harbour where there are toilets and a few bars. Main street has shops that are well worth going into Not a bad little town . Top of Denmark Trip, Coach trip of Panoramic view of Skagen, Stopped at Maritime Museum dedicated to Rescue service. Then on to Grenen Spit where the North sea meets the Baltic sea you ride in a carriage pulled by tractor across sand dunes to the Tip of Denmark. When you get out you can paddle in the North sea and Baltic at the same time But swimming is banned The North sea was quite Rough but the Baltic was smooth even where they met. Very sunny but a very cold wind . Next to the Sand Church before returning to the ship. We enjoyed the excursion. Look at the choices they give you ,do your homework , Out of the places we went to we would go for a short break to Stockholm and Copenhagen ,explore ,Get lost and not worry about missing the Ship. .
