Your guide will pick you up in the morning directly at your hotel in Bogotá. Drive for approximately 2 hours to get to the Chicaque Natural Park, located southwest of the Sabana de Bogotá, in the municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama. Once you arrive to the Park, you can enjoy its majestic viewpoint which on clear days allows you to observe the snow-capped peaks of the Tolima, Santa Isabel and Ruiz volcanos.

Your guide will take you to a magnificent hike of approximately 3 hours through this natural reserve that is home to 214 species of birds (some of them endemic to the area), 20 species of mammals, a variety of reptiles, amphibians and arthropods; to more than 3,000 plant species, 7 types of forests, 20 km (12.5 miles) of ecological trails and 3 streams of crystalline waters that make Chicaque a unique place in the world.

On this full day tour you will visit the Chicaque Natural Park, a magical and unforgettable place in the surroundings of Bogotá. It is located in an ecosystem of flora and fauna characteristic of the Andean mountain ranges known as Bosque de Niebla (Cloud Forest). Discover the Natural Reserve of 300 hectares of sub-Andean forest, with heights ranging from 2,000 to 2,700 meters (6,560 ft – 8,860 ft) and temperatures from 11 ° to 17 ° C (52 F – 63 F).

Absolutely wonderful. Our guide was so knowledgeable and taught us about the biology of the area and was able to scout out many different bird species. We had a blast hiking close to 6 miles, eating lunch, and being in the trees. Would recommend to ANYONE looking to get out of the city for a day. Truly fantastic!

Our favorite hike from Bogota! Absolutely stunning views. Julian was a great guide that made sure we were safe and shared lots of nature and views of Colombia. We took the 4x4 on the way back up the mountain which was great.

We had such a great experience on this tour. The tour company itself is extremely professional and the communication is great; everything ran very smoothly. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, he taught us about the local plants and animals while sharing some laughs. The pace of the hike is well planned out and comfortable. The park itself is absolutely gorgeous, we couldn’t believe that this didn’t appear on any “must see” lists when visiting Bogota. For such a short trip outside the city, the scenery is incredible. It added so much to our experience in Colombia. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a dose of nature on a quick day trip. It won’t disappoint!

Well organized tour in an amazing environtment, with a very kind and fluent english biologist as tourguide. He told a lots of interesting information about the nature and always helped us when we needed help in the road. The traditional food was very delicious, and the vechichle was very comfortable, and arrived always in time. I can highly recommand this tour!

A very particular natural sanctuary near the southern exit of Bogota. It has impressive nature trails that also requires the walkers an important physical effort but at the same time drives you with the refreshing haze, the sound of birds and the humidity of each step. It is very well signposted, it has Transport Service in case you do not want to walk, paramedic, feeding areas and accommodation. The prices are a bit high considering it is a private reservation, however it is worth knowing and staying. You can also do some extreme sports and horseback riding. No doubt he's looking forward to coming back.

I had only two days stay in bogota but could enjoy the nature experience. I was hoping to meet a wild sloth bears but not good luck this time, maybe next time! Very kind and smooth tour operation and the tour staff took a great care of me since I booked the tour. Thank you!!
