There is so much more to the Louvre than the paintings. The history of the building helps understand what the artist was thinking when he created.

Aurelia was great! She made jokes and kept the tour interesting. Saw a lot of art from different countries and periods

This was only my 2nd time at the Louvre and it was outstanding. Our guide Nancy was fabulous - her knowledge and wonderful personality made it both educational and entertaining. And to see the Mona Lisa as well as other DaVinci works without a line was unbelievably amazing. I felt like I really saw her this time versus at the back of a dense crowd of people trying to zoom in from afar. I highly recommend both the tour and our guide Nancy!

Our guide Lee was educated in art history. He introduced us to the history of the building, then thoroughly explained the most significant artworks in the Louvre and pointed out many details. We booked the small group option due to availability and were happy that we could ask plenty of questions. In peak season, the museum is still busy in the evening, but the crowds were manageable. With the tour, we used the group entrance and did not have to wait in any line. As a historic building, the Louvre has limited air conditioning; on a hot day, it will be warm inside, but not unbearable.
