I wanted the experience of cooking at a farmhouse in Tuscany, but this tour was more than I ever hoped for. We shopped at Central market, drove to a farmhouse on a hillside overlooking the city of Florence. We learned how to chop using a Mezza Luna, make Homemade pasta and sauce and pork loin and potatoes using fresh vegetables from the garden. To walk around in the garden, sipping wine and snacking on fresh bread with chopped tomatoes and herbs and sit around farm tables visiting with our newfound friends, was one of the loveliest experiences of my life. Our chefs, Chris and Erika made our day exceptional with their knowledge, their friendly chatter and the fun they infused in all of our cooking experience.

We had a great time with this experience, would highly recommend. Our guide, Chris, was charismatic, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. He gave us information about foods and the market and kept the day running smoothly. I also appreciated that he not only guided us to the cooking class but also used his cooking experience to help teach the class. Erika, his co-teacher, was the most fun and effervescent person we met in Italy. Her love for her job and cooking is readily apparent and is infectious. The food we prepared was delicious and the wine provided was the perfect complement. The only small detail I would want others to know is that, while you do learn cooking techniques in the class and get hands on experience with the pasta, other times the class size limits individual participation.

Learning how to shop for the ingredients and what to be looking for was just the start of the fun. The cooking advice and techniques used in real Italian cooking was very informative. The beautiful property in which the salt took place was breathtaking. Last but not least Chris and Ericka were great and made us all feel right at home!

We loved our day, learnt so much and food was outstanding . Our guide Gloria was so knowledgeable and made the day so much fun. Erika the chef was helpful and shared all her knowledge. Both guide and chef made sure we had fun and told us about the history and region. A must to do.
