5.00Our guide Rika was very kind, knowledgeable and easy to interact with. The food was better than expected. It was very interesting meeting the geiko. We could ask questions, have a little conversation, she danced and we played a little game. Definitely a night we will remember 😊

4.00When we booked we actually thought this was a private experience, and it turns out we were joined by a couple that, although were kind, made the situation slightly socially awkward. Our host was very passionate and knowledgeable while walking through Gion, and translated kindly between us and the Maiko. In our opinion the food was alright, and the Maiko was definitely the highlight (as she should be), and that made the experience worth it. She was engaging, open to conversation and made the social situation in the room lighter. Her dance was mesmerizing.

5.00Fukumitsu our Meiko was so lovely and a real experience of Japanese culture. Her dances were beautiful and we spent time understanding her life as a Meiko as well as the traditions - and some Harry Potter discussions. She was clearly dedicated to this lifestyle and in her 3rd year as a Meiko aspired to be a Geiko and continue the traditions. A great opportunity to have a glimpse of this cultural life - no iPhones, social media and a more natural life — maybe we all need some Meiko time ! Our guide was excellent ( Yuseki) and he gave some great explanations with excellent English. Overall a “not to miss” experience in Kyoto.
