Lake Ashinoko
Lake Ashinoko (芦ノ湖, Ashinoko) was formed in the caldera of Mount Hakone after the volcano's last eruption 3000 years ago. Today, the lake with Mount Fuji in the background is the symbol of Hakone. The lake's shores are mostly undeveloped except for small towns in the east and north and a couple of lakeside resort hotels. The best views of the lake in combination with Mount Fuji can be enjoyed from Moto-Hakone (a few steps south from the sightseeing boat pier), from the Hakone Detached Palace Garden and from the sightseeing boats cruising the lake.

1.00BAD EXPERIENCE!!! Waited outside the pick up point for over 45 minutes. Viator’s tour guide never responded to the messages. A NO SHOW so please be warned.

5.00Fantastic day with Taka. The weather was unpredictable, so he accessed live cameras and other sources to help determine which sites to visit and which to avoid. Especially loved visiting a beautiful shrine where he took the time to explain customs, etiquette and history, which helped make this a special experience. Even a detour we took to avoid traffic accident turned out to be along the sky-line drive and he stopped several times so we could enjoy the views, which were spectacular.

5.00Our driver/tour guide Taka picked as up just in time. And since he's good in English too he did explain fully our questions. The places we visited were all nice. We enjoyed a lot. Actually I'm with my 2 kids, best friend , and her 2 kids too. Thanks viator, another great experience from your group.
