Reach Rifugio Sapienza at 2,000 meters, where you’ll explore the Silvestri Craters with a light, scenic walk. For those who want to go higher, the cable car up to 2,900m is optional (extra €80 pp) and offers breathtaking views—but no pressure, the experience is incredible either way.
Then stop at Oro d’Etna to taste local honey and see the dramatic 1992 lava flow.
The tour continues at a local winery, where you’ll enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch overlooking the volcano.

5.00This was a wonderful trip—Etna is magnificent and the wine and food were fantastic. But what really made the experience was our new Sicilian friend, Sergio. I say friend, because that is how my wife and I felt about him after a splendid day. Sergio has extensive knowledge of just about every aspect of Sicily. He knows the history, the culture, the food, the drink, the geography, the geology, the horticulture, and so much more. His energy, his passion, and his enthusiasm for Sicily make the experience so much better than I can explain here. We began our day ascending Mt. Etna by (luxury) van. Words do not describe—it is majestic and fascinating and beautiful. Sergio then took us to a honey shop, where we got tastings of honey, olives, olive oil, and wine. Next was on to a large vineyard, where we enjoyed a multi-course lunch and another tasting. Saving the best for last, Sergio then took us to a lovely small vineyard, for a much more intimate and personalized tasting. The wines were fantastic, and the experience was top notch. As an added extra, Sergio took us to a ceramic shop at our request, and even showed us his hometown. Our best day in Taormina! My only regret was that we didn’t have Sergio plan the rest of our trip as well. We didn’t wonderful things, but none of it compared to our delightful day in Sergio’s care!!

5.00Sergio provided a great and unique experience! If only all guides were like this! Not only very knowledgeable but also working 110% and putting his soul into his business! Probably you'll be told by Sergio, but don't wear white sneakers and better not to wear flat sole shoes

5.00Sergio was the best tour guide and was super knowledgable! We had an unbelievable time visiting Mt Etna and learning all about the agriculture and history of the area. Gambino winery was the cherry on top at the end. Highly recommend, 10/10

He was so passionate about Sicily and we knew immediately we were in good hands. Sergio is someone you would always wish to have as your guide! 5 stars from all of us!

He was very knowledgeable about Cecilia, Mt Etna all the floral and fauna surrounding the towns...and gave us a wealth of information and experiences to take home with us. Excellent, attentive driver, with a clean, classy Mercedes Van. A true, honest passionate Cecilian you'd welcome in your home for dinner.

5.00Everything was perfect! Sergio arrived right on time and from the time we left until we returned to our hotel 7 hours later, he imparted useful information, stopped at interesting spots, made sure we had everything we needed and in general was a perfect host. The wine tasting was amazing and between the four of us we all thought it was the best we had ever been to... we had the winery to ourselves and they gave us a LOT of food and explained the wines, then left us to ourselves to enjoy as much of the wines as we wanted (very brave of them)... We agreed the tour was well worth the price and would do it again if we return to the area... thanks so much Sergio and Jessica from the winery... a lovely day.

5.00It’s not always the case that a tour guide has the perfect combination of passion for what they do, deep knowledge of the subject area and professional commitment to the guests experience, along with grace, patience and kindness, that is also an expert driver in a beautiful car that speaks excellent English…yet, that is exactly the perfect combination and experience we had with our guide, Sergio! And if our tour wasn’t special enough, Sergio made himself available days later by phone to translate a conversation for us as we saught to locate a birth certificate of a Sicilian ancestor born in 1898 outside of Palermo. And we were able to leave with the birth certificate in hand - so grateful and thankful for our time with Sergio.
