The Fissure 8 Lava Flow Tour offers an intimate and respectful look at one of the most significant volcanic events in modern Hawaiian history. Led by our knowledgeable, local guide and resident of Leilani Estates who owns and has direct access to Fissure 8, you’ll walk across surreal lava fields where entire communities once stood.

We had an amazing time with Aloha ʻĀina Tours! Visiting Fissure 8 and then witnessing the volcano eruption at Volcanoes National Park! Once in a life time experience. Our tour guide was Steve. Hands down the best guide and gave us all the time we wanted to visit the park. Kris was our guide at Fissure 8 - he truly loves his community and we learned so much from him. Thank you so much! Highly Recommend!

This tour was the highlight of our Big Island trip! We were on a cruise and booked just a few days in advance—so glad we did. We visited Hilo, Fissure 8, beautiful gardens, waterfalls, with plenty of stops to get out and enjoy short walks. Steve was a fantastic guide—informative and fun. He played the ukulele for everyone :) . We also met Kris who was the fissure 8 guide. Shared many stories! Highly recommend!
