    I have wanted to come see the Statue of David for over three decades and was able to finally make it. Galya was the perfect tour guide as her love for Michelangelo was deep and her knowledge wide. I would definitely recommend her and this tour for someone wanting the deluxe experience of the Academia and The Statue of David.

    A wonderful tour of the academy and of course focused on David. Our guide Galya was well informed, passionate and caring about the experience of her guests. This is absolutely the way to see David and the early morning selection meant we spent less then 10 minutes in line.

    Upon arrival, we weren’t sure we were even in the right place, but we were shortly approached by a coordinator who confirmed our reservation. Our tour guide, Galya, showed such enthusiasm. She was knowledgeable, friendly, clear, humorous, and passionate. And after seeing David, I understood why she could give this tour hundreds of times and still be excited every time! The tour lasted about an hour, and while we spent some time on paintings and musical instruments, the focus is on Michelangelo’s works. When the tour is over, you’re allowed to stay to look around. Stop in the free toilet before heading to the gift shop, (where there is nothing you need). Highly recommend spending the money on this tour to skip the line!
