What To Expect
Embark on a journey to Claude Monet’s bloom-bursting estate at Giverny and learn about the hugely influential Impressionist art movement. Fondation Claude Monet
Your first stop is the Fondation Claude Monet where you’ll be treated to a brief but informative introduction to the estate where the Impressionist master made his home. After the orientation tour, you are free to explore the House and Gardens of Monet at your leisure using a convenient self-guided audio app. Stroll around the lily pad-peppered ponds of the garden that were made famous by Monet’s own masterpieces. Admire the fabulous explosion of blooms which change depending on the season. Make your way around the artist’s ivy-clad house which has been restored to show how it would have appeared during the painter’s lifetime. You can also grab lunch in one of the town’s tranquil bars or restaurants which exude provincial charm. After lunch, we’ll regroup and make the short trip back to Paris with enough time to spare for you to enjoy another fun-filled activity in Paris. 1.00Very frustrated. We left our hotel 40 minutes early even though it was a 10 minute drive. Traffic was absolutely horrible but our taxi driver was doing his very best. I messaged the tour guide and let her know the situation and that we were on our way, before we were actually late, and the response I received was not very empathetic or personal at all. Basically a formal email telling me they “can not wait” and “sorry no refund”. We spent $75 on a cab ride only to miss a tour we were so excited about. So on top of that disappointment, a generic “no refund” message is what we got from our tour guide. “But we can reschedule “for a fee” if there is availability”. It would’ve been nice, since we are not from this country, for there to have been a heads up that traffic may be bad at that time and to allow an extra hour to get there. We spent quite a bit of money with Viator on two other tours for this trip. But after this experience, I would really think hard about booking another one.

4.00Hendrix, our guide, was very knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of information on the bus ride. If you want to go through Monet's house, be prepared to wait in a very long line. And we found ourselves going around and around in the gardens as we looked for the exit. I would recommend this tour, but with these notes.

4.00The gardens are breathtaking. The weather was amazing. We were able to explore all of the outside gardens. So many photos opportunities. The museum was rich with beautiful photographs. We enjoyed the beauty and history of Giverny.
