Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. After the activities, watch as the pig is taken out of the traditional imu pit before it is prepared for the Hawaiian buffet.

Hale Hoaloha Luau at the Mauna Lani
The Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau is a celebration of the beauty and stories of the land area known as Kalāhuipuaʻa. Considered the “piko” (center) of the majestic mountains of Haleakalā, Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualālai, the Mauna Lani is a special place to all who have the privilege of enjoying its beauty. Traditionally, lūʻaus are important family celebrations with a feast of favorite foods, sharing of moʻolelo (story telling), mele (music) and hula. Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau brings together all of these while sharing Mauna Laniʻs majestic history and the true essence of aloha, ʻohana (family) and kuleana (responsibility) with everyone in attendance.

Very friendly and warm welcome at the wonderful facility on Mauna Lani! We arrived an hour early but had no issue receiving the complimentary valet service while walking around the beach before the event. Staff was kind to direct us to the Pavilion where the event was. Great buffet style food, alcohol drinks available for purchase with credit card and the bartender was amazing! Made great cocktails and had an incredible memory. There are family activities guests can participate before the Luau starts. Friendly note is to bring some sort of shade with you if visiting in the summer season since it starts outdoors just before sunset!

The food was delicious and the entertainment was awesome! We had assigned seating so we didn’t have to get there super early to choose a good seat. Worth the money.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Luau. It was a beautiful setting and a great show! There was a nice selection of food for the dinner and complementary drinks when we arrived. The show was entertaining and told about the history of the island. We had a great night!

It was an outside venue that was absolutely beautiful and perfect. The story teller and dancers and wait staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. However, you should dress up for the event.

The story teller music and dancers were fantastic! I loved that they had games for us to learn more about the culture and there was a wide variety of foods for all. Beautiful setting and well organized. Would highly recommend!!

No need to arrive early, they've already preassigned you to a table based on how 'early' you've booked. Great Hawaiian storytelling; food buffet; hula dancers; and fire thrower at the end. It's hot, wear sunscreen and sunglasses.

The show itself was entertaining and well done. We were not big fans of the seating arrangements or the long lines for food and checking in. Also lots of flies.

The show was very good, but food was nothing to rave about and the process to check in was annoying and not very welcoming. The impression we got was that it was only about the money and was not worth what was paid.
