This experience takes you to Australia’s oldest pub and some of its oldest buildings, where you’ll hear captivating tales of early settlers, convict heritage, maritime legends, and the rise of Hobart’s social scene, all narrated with a dose of humor and enthusiasm by your expert guide, Dave.
As you stroll through the charming streets of Hobart’s waterfront and historic districts, you’ll stop at four local watering holes where you’ll enjoy samples of Tasmania’s finest craft beers, ciders, and wine, all made on the island.

5.00Amazing tour. Dave (Greg) knowledge of history and the pubs was great. While a Pub crawl we actually learned things. Being on a tour where he was training other Dave's made it entertaining. Often offttack but real fun.

3.00Josh was our tour guide for the evening, with one other customer (training to be a guide) - making a group of 4. Josh was an enthusiastic guide, with many stories of Hobart and colonial settlement of greater Tasmania, and kept up the energy and vibe throughout the 2.5 hours which in a small group can be a challenge. We loved the first pub (great atmosphere, historical vibe and craft beers), but the 2nd and 3rd pubs were a bit average, there were no craft beers at either (only cascade/boags), the 2nd pub super rowdy with no table booking, the 3rd (also no table booking) seemed historical upstairs but we don’t recall hearing about it. Manky Sally’s (4th and last pub) was ok, had craft beers, not historical but has a cool Mona vibe (same owner). Overall, we enjoyed the night, but we think it would benefit from pub selections more appropriate to a historical tour, and with craft beer available, along with confirmed table bookings so we aren’t wandering about looking for seats.

5.00Great fun, great beer and great stories. I loved hearing about the history of the area and the stories from each pub! A beer at each pub was nice and we were advised which ones were the local beers. Coming from the UK, I loved the convict stories and even the touch of Tartan at one of the pubs. The tour was great fun and got me very interested in learning more about how the city started. I can also say I drank at Australia’s oldest pub now! Thanks for the tips for the rest of our trip!

5.00I had a terrific time. Our guide ‘Dave’ was knowledgeable and knew the places to go around Hobart. Lots of drinks and tall tales and true! I never realised there was do much history to discover in such a small area. Loved my day. Highly recommended!

5.00What a great experience! We had such a fun night on this pub tour of Hobart with Dave's. The pubs were a great mix, from the oldest in Australia to very cool newer joints. The stories were great and so were the beers. 10/10, I'd definitely do this tour again and will be recommending it to any friends visiting Hobart.
