We were not on a sail boat as described. It was motorized and a wonderful ride. There were whales everywhere and they put on quite a show for us on our excursion. We went in the morning around 10 AM and it was relatively calm. We departed from A bay after a brief walk up the beach. I have mobility issues and had no trouble climbing the ladder to get on the boat. The guides were informative an ddid a wonderful job to make this a great morning.

Great trip, and the Captain spotted whale spouts quickly and we watched then dive. He then set a timer for 15 minutes and the whales resurfaced and gave us quite a show.

Fantastic! Although there weren't too many whales in the area the captain located a mother with her calf + escort. We were able to watch them for quite a while and enjoyed the trip a lot. Highly recommended!

DO NOT BOOK! We followed the instructions provided and our Uber driver dropped us off in time at the designated location. We received a call shortly after to ask where we were. Their response: “Uhhh, yeah, we have that problem.” They volunteered to put us through to the captain. Did not hear from the captain. Some other person called us back to say they were departing. Utterly nonchalant. We expressed our frustration and that we were will ahead of sailing time. That would not wait, despite their acknowledged poor directions. We expressed that we expected a full refund They initially balked, but then later called back to say they were offering a full refund. We were out a round trip Uber ride. We were able to book this the morning of because all other outfitters were booked. Obviously, there is a reason this was the last available. Please patronize a different company. Sad ending to our last day in Hawaii.

Wonderful trip, but we didn’t see any whales, a bit too late in the season. The company does offer a whale sighting guarantee, but I don’t believe it’s money back (understandable), but you can go in another boat trip to try again. So, my advice would be, take excursion on the first couple of days of your trip, if you don’t see whales the first time, then you can try again later on your trip. We will be going again soon, fingers crossed. But even without seeing whales it was a beautiful boat trip.

Went out on the motorboat in the morning instead of the afternoon catamaran. Exceeded expectations!! Saw pods of whales up close. While we were stopped a pod came up to us- one humpback swam under our boat! We also saw a breech 150 yds from Boat

I have always wanted to go whale watching and since I read that January is prime whale watching time, we decided to book this cruise. We met the boat on the beach behind the Marriott hotel. There we boarded a shuttle boat to the catamaran. The crew was very friendly and helpful assisting us from one boat to the other. We were also given safety instructions before we headed out. Since the sightings can’t be guaranteed I went with the hopes of seeing at least one whale. We hit the jackpot and saw a whole pod of whales. The boat captain Rob explained to us that it is mating season and we were seeing multiple males chasing a female whale. What a great afternoon! Everyone was excited and we got lots of photos. The boat was extremely clean, the crew was super kind, friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely would go back on this tour again and I highly recommend it. Thanks Captain Rob and crew for such a wonderful afternoon.
