Paddle down the easy Otra River, down a beautiful landscape with Norwegian nature on both sides. The journey is relaxing and suitable for paddlers of all levels.

The tour starts when we pick you and drive you by car for 10 minutes to the starting point of the river.

At the starting point we will help you get in the kayak safely and guide you down the river. You will also get help from the river's current that pushes you calmly down the river.

The Otra River has very clean water. When you dip your paddles and move the kayak, the water feels fresh.

The area around the river is beautiful. You paddle through forests with tall trees. You will hear birds singing.

As you get close to Kristiansand, the river gets wider. The city has both nature and buildings, and the river takes you right to the center. It’s a great place to end your trip and explore.

The tour ends at the address "Kjoita 10", a 10 minute walk from the city centre!

What To Expect

Kristiansand

- We will pick you up at Odderøyveien 5, 4610 Kristiansand. Meet up outside the building at this address. - We will then be driven to the starting point of the tour (called Haus) - We will help you get comfortable in the kayak and teach you everything you need to know - We will guide you down the river safely! - The tour will end at the bottom of the river, address is "Kjøita 10", about 1km from Odderøyveien 5 where you got picked up

This was my first time kayaking, and Hakeem was very kind provided excellent instructions and support. We launched in the river and were able to paddle all the way back to Kristiansand. The water was cool and clear, with a little current in some areas. We were with others ranging from tweens to seniors and all were able to participate and keep up. Highly recommend Hakeem, excellent guide!

Our cruise ship docked in Kristiansand on August 24th. We booked this kayaking experience because of the reviews we read in advance and we had an amazing time kayaking on the Otra River with Hakeem(owner) and about 20 people, who were mostly on our cruise ship. We were blessed with wonderful weather and had a blast! Hakeem was great to work with. He was readily available for communications before the excursion, great to talk with during the excursion, and was generous to all during the trip on the river. Definitely recommend this experience and working with Hakeem!!!

Generally we were happy with the tour (couple 31/30 years). Booking was easy, communication good and the two guides excellent! The price is also fine for Norway. One point deduction was awarded for the following: - Entire river trip is along a medium-traffic road - Nature is beautiful but hardly varied - Clothes / shoes in the designated compartments were wet - No return transport to the starting point but 20-25min walk We are glad that we participated, but would not recommend the tour without restriction.

Well organized, beautiful kayak trip. We had no experience, but we were guided fine by Hakeem. Hakeem also responded quickly to questions from our side through the app or email. A nice positive experience with the first time kayaking.

Absolutely lovely experience on kayaking. A quiet trip that started a little up in the river Otra. We paddled quietly down and this tour is suitable for everyone. Everything was arranged in advance, did not need to bring anything. Very nice instructor who drove us down in a safe way!

An absolutely AMAZING experience, with important info about practical conditions, equipment and not least paddle techniques etc. In addition there was almost magical atmosphere at Gillsvannet this Tuesday evening. Thank you for the opportunity to experience this evening with amazing nature and surroundings. The instructor was pleasant to listen to and he shared his knowledge with us beginners. I will never regret spending these hours learning how to paddle safely and safely after this introductory course. RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE!
