This was an amazing experience. I can't say enough good things about our guide. We learned so much and saw so much. 100% worth booking this tour. The only drawback was we had 2 student guides on the tour with us, which did make the group larger than I anticipated. The students at no time hung back, so sometimes it was hard to get close to the guide to hear everything. I know they need to learn, but it really did make it a larger than expected group.

Great, in depth tour our the Gion area including multiple geisha districts. Raphael was an excellent guide and offered detailed explanations about the area’s history and the lives of the geisha, meiko and their exclusive tea houses. He answered all our questions and made sure to point out things that we would have missed had we been wandering around by ourselves. The smaller group size was definitely worth the price, as was the included snack break! This tour had everything I wanted and more.

The travel route was unknown and we had no expectations of what we would see and learn. The tour route was well considered and enabled us to see many parts of the Gion district under the guidance and narrative of our guide. Although there are many other walking groups, our small group was a bonus and we could easily gather and listen to our guide’s explanations and stories.

Great tour, but a bigger group than we were expecting (~30 people). Our tour guide was fantastic and did a great job explaining the context of everything we saw.
