Excellent way to experience a tea ceremony. Provided a great overview of all the parts of the ceremony and how to prepare and drink the tea. A beautiful setting, with views of their meticulous gardens. Was hesitant to book originally, as we don’t usually like to do anything too touristy, but felt that it was actually a wonderful experience.

This is a must do in Kyoto!! The tea ceremony was so tranquil and enlightening. A small group of participants kept it more personal and quaint. The history and instructions explained by the translator and the precision of the tea master’s movements in every step of the ceremony makes you feel involved and inserted into a Japanese tradition passed down for centuries. The outside garden views, the tea room set-up and architecture, the aromas and pre-tea sweets, the beautiful ceremonial dress, and the preparation and enjoyment of the tea truly brought out harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. Thank you so much for this cultural enlightenment.

My daughter and made it a requirement to do this while in Kyoto and it did not disappoint. The grounds were beautiful and the ceremony was amazing. The tea was not like what I was use to in the States. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for give my daughter and I a memory for the books.

Really nice experience with a short tea ceremony and short instructional of how make tea itself. I thought it was very thoughtfully done with kind instructors. Also a beautiful location. For the length of time, we only scratched the surface of both the formal tea ceremony and matcha making and felt it was a bit pricy for this experience.

Wonderful experience in a beautiful setting. The Tea Master was very thoughtful, answered all of our questions, very gracious in performing the tea ceremony and then teaching us how to properly make matcha. A most lovely part of our day.
