Yuki-chan was so very insightful on our tour. She carefully explained the train system in Kyoto for us and then took us to a less populated area of the bamboo forests so that we didn't have to deal with the crowds as much. She was very informative about the cultural aspects of the different Buddhist temples and their rich history. The boat ride was beautiful on a clear day and even a food boat pulled up and we were able to get drinks and snacks. After the boat ride we visited a popular shopping street where we were able to sample multiple local foods and candies. I can't stress enough how informative Yuki-chan was at every stop we made; explaining the cultural significance of different foods and snacks as we shopped. Truly a wonderful experience spending the day with Yuki-chan

Sumi was a great guide. She was very kind and knowledgeable. I am also appreciative that when I went to the wrong place and got to the office late, she came back to get me so I wouldn’t miss the tour.

Walking around for these tours, one needs to prepare, with hats, water and an umbrella. But it's all so worth it. Doing Kyoto Sagano Bamboo Grove with our wonderful guide made all the difference. She was patient and kind. With all the knowledge, we knew all that we were seeing. We also appreciated doing this in the morning as it's very hot. As I was watching tourists walking up to the bamboo Grove at mid day, I wondered how they would cope.
