We had an excellent time touring the Gekkeikan brewery and learning about the history from our tour guide, Matt! He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything we were seeing thoroughly and answering our questions. We then had a small sake tasting at the museum before heading over to a 18 flight tasting at a izakaya. Our group was so fun and we made great memories! We even got to keep a sake glass as a souvenir!

Had a great time with Kumi. She was very knowledgeable about the history and methods of providing sake and of the differences. She also answered a lot of questions about Japanese culture and areas of Kyoto. There was an hour wait for the museum but she has a reservation so we went right in. The place where we did the tasting had a table reserved for us and the flights poured and waiting.

My partner and I did this last year and it's definitely worth doing! The interesting story and history of how sake came about was an amazing way to spend some time in best region, in my opinion, of Japan.

Excellent tour that ended up being private. We visited one of the major sake distilleries in Kyoto and afterwards went to an izakaya to try all kinds of sake. Can really recommend for people that want to learn more about sake making and the drink itself.

Wonderful tour. We learned so much from our guide, Linda, who was also a sake sommelier. That in particular was very special treat, as she has a unique perspective on and deep experience with sake. She was able to answer all of our difficult and nuanced questions about flavor profiles and food pairings. Linda also had some great recommendations for us related to sake and other things in the area and in Hokkaido! We would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a unique experience.
