Both the sword lesson and the museum tour were excellent. The sword lesson started with a photo opportunity with replica swords (they look real but they aren’t sharp so no danger of anyone getting hurt with one!) and moved on to practicing moves with wooden swords. Our sensei (Tepe) was brilliant - gave very clear instructions and shared interesting information about what we were doing and how it would have been used in combat. The tour was also brilliant - our guide, Saku, was very knowledgeable and entertaining and we came away feeling that we had learnt a lot about the history of Japan.

Had a wonderful time - Tepe gave a great tour of the museum. Very informative and fun. We also did the samurai session with Riu with our 9 y/o. He was great - really great fun.

Riku provided the best experience I’ve encountered thus far on my Japan Visit. I feel like I went through actual training to become a Samurai. I am grateful for the knowledge this museum had to offer. Thank you also to Riu for taking us on a guided tour and allowing us to interact with the history through artifacts.
