Absolute highlight of our trip to Japan

5.00We did as many things as possible on our trip to Japan, and this was an absolute highlight. They give you a bit of background on matcha, then we put kimonos on and went into the ceremony itself. Yuma did a purification process and then we got to make the matcha itself. The experience is very intimate, but they also are very relaxed and easy-going, so it’s not overwhelming in the slightest. We had a train to catch at Kyoto Station and they were very accommodating about our schedules. They spoke great English so you get a full understanding of what’s going on. Yuko and Yuma were amazing, and I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Kyoto.

5.00It was with children, but it was a private space so I could experience it with peace of mind. In a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, the host explained the spirit of matcha and tea ceremony attentively.

5.00We really enjoyed this. The explanation at the start was excellent and the ceremony was relaxing and most enjoyable The atmosphere was calm and the background music really relaxed me, unusual It was so good my wife was inspired to buy the bowls etc etc Well worth a visit

5.00I came here with some friends! It was my first time experiencing a tea ceremony and I learned alot! The place is set up really nice and it was a very authentic experience, would recommend to anyone interested in tea ceremonies or just Japanese traditions/customs! Definately a great experience 😊
