Hjalparfoss
In South-Iceland on the edge of the highland we can find Hjálparfoss - Help's Falls is another beautiful waterfall in the river Fossá in Þjórsárdalur valley. The waterfall was named after the region "Hjálp" meaning "help" as this little oasis was warmly welcomed by those travelling long distances over the barren highlands of Iceland. The waterfall is split in two with a beautiful pond in front and surrounded by extraordinary basalt rock formations, making this spot a beautiful haven. Hjálparfoss - Help's Falls is another beautiful waterfall in the river Fossá in Þjórsárdalur valley. Hjálparfoss runs in the river Fossá right before it merges with the glacial river Þjórsá. The difference between a fresh-water river like Fossá, and a glacial river, like Þjórsá, is vast. The glacial rivers are greyish white and forceful, full of sediment created by glacial erosion. The fresh-water river's in Iceland famously have a beautiful crisp blue hue which is captured perfectly at Hjálparfoss.

Probably the best Tour I did in Iceland Amazing beautiful places, small group that makes you feel cozy and manageable. The Jeep is fun, but also feels safe and appropriate for the highlands amd roads. Best of all was Isabella our guide, she was not just informative, she was also fun and accommodating! We love it! You must do the hiking!

Rebecka was very pleasant, funny, helpful and very knowledgeable about the entire area of the trip. The hot springs were wonderful, a must do on this excursion.

This was great but they need to extend the time at landmannalaugar so you can actually have enough time to enjoy the circle hike. To hike the mountain you definitely need more time. Valley of tears is a little slice of heaven. Trip advisor needs to make it clearer that you can do the hot springs at landmannalaugar OR the hike. There is not time for both. Beautiful area.

We had a great day with our driver Ziggy in the Highlands of Iceland! The weather turned out beautiful and when there was an issue, he promptly found a solution, communicated with us about the issue and once resolved, we were able to complete the rest of our adventure. The scenery was amazing, like nothing we had seen anywhere else. While this was a long day, it was definitely worth it! Would highly recommend this tour!

We were very excited about the super jeep when it first pulled up to pick us up, the seats were a bit snug for those who are little bigger and tall. However, aside from the seats, this was an amazing trip. We had done several since arriving to Iceland and the views you got on this trip were like no others. We did hit some road bumps (pun intended) along the way which our tour guide Ziggy/Siggy (sorry about spelling) was able to help us navigate wonderfully and still managed to fit in all of our stops making up time where he could. It’s definitely a long day and a lot of driving, pits stops and stretching in between were definitely a plus on this trip as well but absolutely a must do. It was BEAUTIFUL.

Landmannalauger is very pretty to see. Our tour guide did not speak much and I would have liked to have learned more about the area.

Landmannalaugur has long been on wish list of places to go in Iceland, and on a brief 1.5 day stopover in Reykjavik, Arctic Adventures delivered a great experience. Rebecca was a good humored and informative guide. She was flexible with the timing of the itinerary as it was clear that the small group on the tour that day had more interest in some stops than others. We had a luxurious amount of time to hike in the park itself. A shoutout is due to the Arctic Adventures office staff, who went above and beyond in accommodating a late-arriving cruise ship and helped me navigate the confusing geography of the terminal over the phone so I could find the van.

We weren't sure at first how we'd feel about this Jeep Safari, but it was fantastic. Our guide, Hjalti Björnsson, shared lots of fascinating information about what we were seeing, how it came to be, how the environment affected the people who lived there, and more. He's a seasoned hike-leader, and he very patiently and thoroughly explained the volcanic craters, the impact of the glaciers, the colors of the mountains. The sights would have been impressive enough on their own, but were much more so because, thanks to Hjalti's explanations, we were able to understand and appreciate what we were seeing!
