Meet your guide near one of Madrid’s most historic markets, where neighborhood residents have been shopping for over a century. Head inside to discover a gastronomic haven of delicious, high-quality Spanish products that form the building blocks of local cuisine. Chat with the vendors and pick up fresh ingredients to take back to the kitchen. Now that you have a solid understanding of Spanish food basics, it’s time to get hands-on. You’ll head behind the scenes of one of the most exciting restaurants in Madrid’s Huertas neighborhood into a beautiful cooking space reserved just for your small group. Enjoy a typical aperitif of sweet vermouth with products from the local market. Over the next few hours, you'll work in the kitchen with your group to prepare typical Spanish tapas, homemade croquetas and patatas bravas with two homemade sauces. Sit down to enjoy your homemade lunch and seasonal fruit from the market for dessert with your choice of beer or wine. You'll feel bonded to this new group of friends after cooking this special meal together. Leaving class, you'll have a deeper knowledge of Spanish cuisine and several easy, delicious recipes to recreate in your own kitchen.

Great experience learning about the market, the food and drink. The paella was excellent. Definitely going to try and make what was shown to us.

Nice clean professional cooking class room. Informative but rather too formal for truly learning Spanish cooking. You don't get to cook your own dishes but you participate with a bit of chopping and a bit of stirring of the cook's main dishes. Would have been better if dishes were made more personally by between 2 people. Otherwise still fun with our friends.

Wonderful, anuthentic and educational experience that I would highly recommend. Arantxa had a terrific sense of humour and was very knowledgeable about her craft. Such a terrific way to appreciate the history of true Spanish cooking. Learned a lot! Will come back to her again! Thank you very much.

Daniel is an energetic and knowledgeable guide and chef! Visiting the market first, and picking up some of our ingredients added to the experience. More important than the recipes, we learned new cooking techniques that make a really great food.

We had a lot of fun and the food tasted delicious. Daniel was a very good host. The one problem was, we did not receive the recipes to anything. If you go to his class, make sure you get the recipe before leaving.
