Amazing experience viewing of the Manta Rays! Easy and very safe snorkeling where you hang on a lighted raft and float while viewing the Rays

They communicated well about the weather and were able to get us rescheduled. My youngest kid was 10 and I was nervous about him getting over to the blue light. They made sure he made it to and from the boat safely. We got lucky and had the best views of the manta rays! It was also nice to have wet suits provided and snacks on board.

In summary - our experience was hindered by seasick passengers vomiting over the mantas and people that should never have been permitted onboard, creating unsafe conditions for everyone involved. But the mantas were cool! The original listing did not mention a >45 minute boat ride to and from the manta viewing location. This company's vessel is docked very far north of where most charters view the mantas. Passengers that were seasick on the way out were also permitted to snorkel. We had a wonderful 10 minutes of up-close manta viewing before multiple snorkelers began throwing up in the water, which not only disgusted us, but deterred the mantas from staying close to the surface, where the plankton (and vomit) was most concentrated. At first, the mantas swam right up to us; but as passengers began vomiting, they dropped to lower depths below us. We signed a waiver declaring that we were capable of swimming. There was also a day-of questionnaire that asked the same question. We were surprised to find out from a crew member before departure that they WILL bring swimming-incapable people onboard. On our tour, there were elderly passengers that were unable to enter the water without assistance, creating an environment that was unsafe for other passengers and the crew. One of these passengers later fell and cut themselves, bleeding over the main deck on the return trip. The night we went out, the sea was calm, and Bite Me Sport Fishing gave us what we paid for: mantas. With that said, even under great conditions, there were countless near misses and risky circumstances that were plainly avoidable. As other reviewers have mentioned, the crew and captain were fantastic and very friendly - but failed to deny obviously seasick or incapable passengers from entering the dark, open ocean. Swimming in vomit is bad enough, but if two or more passengers in the water needed emergency assistance at the same time on our night out, I am not confident the crew would have been equipped to help them. While I would recommend the manta ray experience, we will not use Bite Me Sport Fishing in the future. There are charters farther south that come highly recommended by locals familiar with this experience. Bite Me Sport Fishing can't do anything about passengers lying on a waiver, but they can do more to recognize behaviors that contribute to poor or unsafe conditions for other divers on this tour.

If you are looking to go swim with the manta rays, I strongly recommend this activity. From start to finish the entire crew does everything they can for your enjoyment. My daughter is on the spectrum and each crew member took time to help her feel at ease and work with her to get into the water and enjoy the experience. At no time did any of us feel rushed or like our safety was in jeopardy. The manta rays did not disappoint, they came inches from us. We also saw three separate sharks.

It was very cool and the guides were very knowledgeable. Great experience! The 5 pm group also gets a “free sunset” view as the sun is going down while we were on the boat
