Departing from central Bergen, we sail past historic landmarks before heading through the Cityfjord, Salhusfjord and Osterfjord, where steep mountains and tranquil coves create a constantly shifting landscape. The adventure reaches its highlight in the narrow Mostraumen Channel, where the captain carefully navigates between towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. With daily departures year-round, this is the most intimate and up-close fjord experience from Bergen—perfect for travelers seeking comfort, atmosphere and unforgettable views.

This tour will go in rain or shine. In the winter months, it can happen that the sea freezes in the innermost part of the fjord where there is a lot of fresh water mixed with the sea water, brackish water. If there is so much ice that there is no safe passage for boats, the captain will then choose an alternative route in this area. This is beyond our control and it does not give grounds for claiming a refund for the trip. We will always do our best to give our customers great experiences, even on days when the forces of nature are not easy to handle.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Bryggen is one of Norway’s most iconic sights—Bergen’s postcard-famous row of colorful wooden buildings along the harbor. Travelers will pass this UNESCO-listed waterfront and see the historic architecture that has become a signature image of Bergen and Norway.
Travelers will pass the iconic Nordhordland Bridge, a striking combination of suspension bridge and floating bridge spanning the fjord north of Bergen. Known for its unique engineering and dramatic setting, the bridge is a recognizable landmark and an impressive sight when entering the fjord landscape.

The Monsturmannen cruise in Bergen is an absolutely exceptional experience that is hard to compare to anything else. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, you can truly feel the professionalism and passion of the crew throughout the entire trip. The views are simply breathtaking. The Norwegian fjords, mountains, and water create landscapes that stay with you long after the journey ends. It’s one of those experiences that lets you truly feel the spirit of Norway and see Bergen from a completely different perspective. The entire cruise crew deserves special recognition for being incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. John Einar is an outstanding guide and a wonderful person, knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the place he calls home. Thanks to him, the cruise becomes not only a beautiful trip but also a fascinating story about Norway and Bergen. Everyone visiting Bergen should experience this. It is definitely one of the best attractions in the city.

Brilliant half day trip from Bergen. Great views of Bergen and the coast that just became more stunning as we made our way further up the fjord. John the on-board guide was really informative and introduced us to the boat and crew which only added to our enjoyment of the trip. Cabin was nice and warm. Dress warmly (wind chill) and read your meeting point instructions carefully for your departure time….its not hard! Do arrive 30 minutes before departure. Brilliant must do, good value trip if wanting to add a short stay activity during a Bergen visit.

I really appreciated the guide on this cruise. He was full of information about the scenery and Norway. I also had a bar inside where you could get a hot cup of tea or a snack.

It’s a nice cruise especially towards the turning point when you are close to the rocks. Staff were great. Can buy food & drink. Inside warm. Clean toilets. WiFi. I suggest you get on early to get a window seat inside. Maybe windows should be cleaned outside between each trip. Outside deck is quite small but there is some seating.

We wanted to see the magical fjords in our time in Bergen. We chose this to do as a day activity. First of all, it's blistery on the deck where in my opinion it's got better views than inside but we were there in late summer/fall. The seats on the deck and the side of the boat go fast so grab one and stay there if you want one. We had a group of young adults that kept trying to push us off our side of the boat seats to sit as a group of six and if we went to get tea or the bathroom they took the seats. Bring scarves, hats, and mufflers and make sure you enjoy the beauty up close for some of the journey. They have piped in explanations of what you are seeing which were helpful and classical music at some points to highlight the majesty and drama of the scenery which was a nice touch. If you are in Bergen and have a few hours this is well worth your time and a highlight of our trip!

The boat was too small to pack 230 passengers. Families were jostling and pushing to sit together. When they left their seats, they came back to find their seats taken. The deck capacity was too small to accommodate even a third of the passengers - people were jostling to get good pics. The Fjords were amazing. Overall, did not feel at ease on such a crowded boat.

The trip was moved from 12 to 10.30 at another departure point at short notice. You have to read his emails, of course. No problem for us now. In retrospect even better, because you arrive again in the bright. The weather also plays a role, of course. We had sunshine. Duration approx. 4 h.
