Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles in true royal fashion. As your guide shows you around a carefully curated selection of the palace’s 700 rooms, you’ll hear stories of the Sun King, Louis XIV, his successors, their queens, mistresses, and courtiers – including Marie Antoinette and other notable figures. Versailles had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries, when the Sun King elevated Louis XIII’s humble hunting lodge into the official seat of the French court – and 300 years later, the palace has lost little of its glamorous excess.
La Galerie des Glaces
Stand in the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, La Galerie des Glaces, the site of royal ceremonies and the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. Discover tales of decadence, diplomacy, and revolution. Visit the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors inside Versailles while our passionate English-speaking guide marvels you with stories of the excesses of royal life, peaking under the Sun King, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

It could not have been easier to book. Then, Viator sends you many reminders with information on the meeting place and what to expect at your tour. The meeting place was easy to find and the tour guide, Joe, could not have been more knowledgeable or pleasant. He maneuvered our group of about 20 people through Versailles which was not easy because there were at least three other tours occurring simultaneously. We started off the tour with a bathroom break which was very much appreciated. In each room, our tour guide gave us a history and then a little story about Louis XIV or 15th or Napoleon or Marie Antoinette or whatever was appropriate for each room. My friends and myself really learned a lot from this tour. And then we stayed for a tour of the gardens which was magnificent. Versailles is such a marvel. My group had another tour through Viator on Monday to the Louvre and we are looking forward to it. I will definitely recommend Viator to other travelers.

The tour was canceled due to the strike on 9/18/25. I'm surprised that you even sent this to me now.

There was just not enough time in the package we purchased to see and explore everything Versailles had to offer. However, our guide throughout the palace was exceptional and we had a great day!
